If the people you date find it, "intimidating" that you, "run a lot" they haven't grown up yet.

don't find it intimidating but do not want to see her barefoot
How come no one has questioned why the OP isn't dating a runner instead of some dbag snowboarder?

Because women prefer normal looking cool dudes, not self-obsessed anti-social scrawny male runners.
As a guy, I'll say nothing to do with sexism but I'll say this:
Average people get intimidated by great people. Great people get impressed by great people.
This is true of how people react, regardless of whether they're male or female.

Basically you seem to be dating a bunch of average also-rans :) Aim for someone who's not an emotionally fragile low self esteem douche.

ummm..... wrote:I find that some guys, even ones who seem to work out/are in shape, find it intimidating that I run a lot. Maybe not the guys of Letsrun, since most of you guys train competitively and are fast, but the average guy in the general population. I would think runners aren't that intimidating... I mean I am not very muscular at all.
The general population does not know what 50 miles per week means. It's probably how you are saying it - the tone in your voice, or any hand or facial movements.
Just say you like to run and do not get into specifics.
I tell guys all of the time I run a lot and they don't get intimidated. They compliment my legs and then want to bang me.
This is true as well. They probably have no idea, unless they mention mileage themselves.
To any other guy, mileage is a going into details on a topic they don't care about. So that look that you interpret as intimidation, is honestly just as likely a look of boredom.
the layman is usually impressed by almost any amount of miles. If you just say something like "I run for a hour every day", it might be more relatable to someone that hits the gym regularly.

Agree, except snowboarding bro is undoubtedly tongue-wagging material and immensely secure with his masculinity.
Probably. The point is, OP tried to connect to snow boarding bro on a topic and snow boarding bro shut it down for whatever reason. That's a red flag.
Snow boarding bro may not be much more than something nice to look at. Maybe that could work for a hookup/Netflix and chill or whatever the kids are calling it. OP seems not to be looking for that.
No guy is perfect. But, I'm sure there are some who would value her passion for the sport. She just hasn't found a few yet.
Much more generally, OP shouldn't hide her love of the sport. It's who she is.

Indeed.
I get my jimmies in a bunch regarding women that are faster in the mile or 5k than me (which I suppose the mpw range given in the OP would demand)
Intimidated? No. Rustled? Yes. Lol
I get over it though, honest. I just try to get faster. Props to anyone that is faster (which is damn near everyone lmao)
I piss my pants and run in fear.
When I was in my 20s I would have been more intimidated or actually grossed out by anyone bragging about running 5 miles per week! You go girl!!!
One of my best friends in high school was slower than his girlfriend until his senior year XC season. Dumped her shortly after his PRs at 16/32/5k were all faster than hers.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?

Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
