I guess you guys did not hear. The report just came out that in 2007 when Webb wet the American mile record he tested positive for DIESEL. Now you know the rest of the story...
Alan & I are officially starting a business which is set to open early 2017. Unrelated to ANYTHING we’ve ever taken on, but very excited for the challenge-it’s called Elite Fleet Services, offering onsite repair to service commercial trucks, buses or semis. In mid December we will begin looking to hire experienced diesel mechanics. If you know anyone of that caliber that is considering Portland a home (or already here!?) please contact me!!
This does seem like an odd career move. It sounds like they went to a franchise business expo, and this looked like a good business model that fit their financial and lifestyle goals. If they hire a good business manager who knows the fleet services/mobile mechanic business, they should do OK.
This implies that Alan is no longer pursuing triathlon training as a professional sport.
I believe his dad was an economist with the World Bank (or similar) and Alan finished an Economics degree at Portland State.

This, I do know. He hasn't been a professional athlete for a long time.
Webb... is....
back baby!!!
You guys DO KNOW he already owns a string of car dealerships, right?
"Monthly massages"...what kind of business are they really running here? Is it a front for a drug/sex ring? I can respect that. Gotta earn a living.

Seems like a highly competitive field as there are tons of autoshops out there and the barriers to entry are low. That doens't mean you can't make money. It means you need to be able to execute well. Think about lawn service companies. How come some grow to 20 trucks and others stay with the owner cutting the grass.
