Seriously, of course it will pass today! Trump will look like the great deal maker again.
I thought that was a great summary.
The Republicans slandered Obamacare the entire time as a tool to get power.
Now that they have the power they were seeking they don't actually know hoe to govern to get what they want.
That's partly because they actually got what they want.
Forget the freedom caucus and the libertarians. They are a minority of Republicans.
If a Republican president passed the ACA exactly as it is written, they (the majority of Republicans) would have cheered it.
The ACA is not single payer and does not have a public option which Democrats favored.
It allows insurance companies to thrive has an exchange that is an open market for companies to compete for business. It's pro-business, which Republicans like.
If Obama made cut taxes for the rich, removed all gun restrictions and made abortion illegal the Republicans would have been against it and vowed to repeal his actions.

He wouldn't be able to tell you one thing that's in it. Our president is losing bigly
sure there is a chance. Remember these are the same conservative Repubs who swore they would shut down the gov't over the debt ceiling but then caved at the last second.
I'd expect the same here.
Betting markets are up to 39 cents that the bill will pass. Was 22 cents a couple hours ago.
The bill won't pass in its current form. The freedom caucus will not back it, period. There are other republicans who won't either. The more time passes the lower the chances of it passing. Trump will have to modify it, my guess is start from scratch. If up to Trump he'll just move on and pretend this never happened.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/2017/01/02/learning-from-cbos-history-of-incorrect-obamacare-projections/#3e53380846a7as usual, you completely miss the point.
The point of that tweet not the CBO projection.
It is that Trump swore to the deplorables that he would Never Cut Medicaid.
But this bill cuts medicaid by a massive amount.
Because Trump lies all the time about almost everything.
Dude, you trust him for some reason...but he will betray you just like he betrayed people who he swore would not see their medicaid cut.
The rhetoric from left is aim at scaring people. The republicans are against everything but the rich, including killing old people, kids, keeping people uneducated, etc. It's been happening ever since I can remember politics.
You get your facts distilled by politifact. This is why you can't understand anything. If I rob my neighbor and give you half the loot and then the neighbor comes back for his loot, you will claim the neighbor is against you and poor people like you and wants to keep you down.
The republicans are reducing the amount of funding/matching grants it gives the states for the expansion of medicaid. This funding/matching was increased by Obamacare. They are doing in phases so that the states have time to figure out how to deal with medicaid (Obamacare lite). That is all.
You first have to understand that everyone wants the same thing regardless of political association. Next, you have to understand that there may be different ways of achieving a goal.
Whatever the fiscally conservative want to cut is because the money is because those programs are unsustainable. We keep pointing out over and over again at real examples in the world of how communism/socialism does not work. This is the ultimate goal all leftists argue for. People risk their lives and their families to flee those countries.
The republican plan needs to cut government involvement in the healthcare industry. Due to the filibuster rule the republicans need to be careful how they dismantle Obamacare. This is causing some friction between republican factions that believe the entire plan will never happen.
There is a 2 year window with a guaranteed majority in government. This is why there is a rush to implement the republican agenda. I think the republicans have a strategy to put as many proposals in this two year window as possible. If they filibuster the SCUTUS and the republicans use the nuke option then not only will the SCUTUS get nominated, but a range of stuff far worse from the Democrats point of view. They will use this strategy to peel away democrats and prevent the nuke option.
reminder of this nice page from the NYT showing whip lists - this is amazing stuff. Still can't believe trump threw ryan under the bus. Does trump know that his admin lives or dies by the congress? A: no, he does not. he does not know how the government works.
Amazing stuff.

Democrats tax and spend. Republicans borrow and spend.
Trump's budget is no exception.

I don't think it will pass, but if it does it will not be something that keeps any of his campaign promises on health care.
Either way, Trump looks like a very poor deal maker indeed!
interesting report here, that now the WH wants the AHCA to fail today. Not sure what the reasoning is...maybe the WH realizes that the bill is truly awful and they don't want a part of it. Maybe they know that if it passes the house it will eventually fail in the senate, but not after after many more paralyzing and embarrassing headlines.
Sounds like trump has moved on to the next thing. Which is not crazy - probably a good example of him knowing when to walk away from a bad real estate deal.
more winning, trumpers. Tired of it yet?
New lows for trump approval: 42.4 per RCP average.
That Rasmussen poll you trumpers were singling out? It's down to 44% approval. Still care to underline and support that poll?
I suspect even you people will join the disapprovers at some point.

44% is not bad. If you put 1 million people in a room, that's 440,000 who approve of Trump. That'a a lot of people!

Guys- all of you- I just watched Van Jones on CNN say that "confidence in the Administration... and politicians in general... is fading, and that's a bad thing blah blah blah."
So here's the observation/question:
Does he and talking heads (and currently a lot of the Liberals) not realize that is the very reason Trump won? He didn't win because the US population thought politicians are doing a wonderful job. He won because the voters think both sides are slimy scumbags. The voters said no to the most establishment candidate in the history of establishment candidates.
So.... is he just being disingenuous here, or does he and the other talking heads really not realize this?

that suggests that even if the freedom caucus caves, the moderates will walk away.

it's more complicated than you say.
most of trump voters are rich, white and comfy. They have no real problems with america. They are the same republicans who always vote republican. they vote republican no matter who is on the ticket.
What was new this year was that some number of new voters came out - I'll call them the deplorables. They do not trust the gov't at all.
So sure, I suspect the deplorables will lose trust in gov't when trump inevitably betrays them.
But the comfy repubs? eh. They go to their country club and they are fine.

You need to listen to the rednecks. Trump won because he promised a bunch of stuff. They think a bunch of factories will be opened, coal will suddenly be better than natural gas, immigrants will disappear, everyone will have cheap health care, he'll tear up the Iran deal, he'll defeat ISIS.
They actually BELIEVED this stuff. That's why they voted for him. Well, that and a generic hatred of "libruhls".
He won't deliver for them but it won't matter. They're too stupid to figure it out.
