Yesterday Trump tried threats. Didn't work.
Today Trump tried giving in. Didn't work.
Trump knows nothing about negotiation. He's just a con man. Not a businessman.

These people are authoritarians. They are completely fine with government mandates as long as those mandates support Republican policy objectives. Republicans based their opposition to the ACA primarily around the individual mandate because that was the most likely avenue that could lead to its defeat in court. It was never about defending freedom, it was about poking that Kenyan Muslim Obama and his libturd supporters in the eyes. THAT was their main goal, and it still is. Along with giving more money to the wealthy.
please explain. What mandates do the house freedom caucus support? They are probably against social security even.
They would support a mandate criminalizing abortion, thereby denying women the freedom to choose.
They would support a mandate criminalizing homosexuality, thereby denying LBGT people the freedom to be who they are.
They would support mandate banning muslims, thereby denying people freedom of religion.
Those are just off the top of my head, I'm sure you can think of some more.

Better get all the cocky comments in now, because when modified Ryancare passes, and Gorsuch gets confirmed via the nuclear option, you're going to be crying again.

I'm guessing that they would support mandatory military service and mandatory Christian prayers in public schools.
But it's really hard to say because they haven't articulated what they believe.
Apparently, the main purpose of Freedom Caucus is to block stuff. They campaign by saying that the government doesn't work. Then they go to Washington to make sure it is true.
I think you are missing their point...they want government to have a minimal role in our lives. They don't want government telling us what we have to do. They would MUCH rather give you a tax break and let you buy health insurance IF YOU WANT than force you to buy it.
They see an absolute value in giving people choices and leaving it up to them. They see the Dems leading us to Socialism, which they believe ends up in everyone dead and poor.
That's why you see people saying 'hey Dems take a look at Chavez and Stalin - those are your heroes'
RIght wingers honestly think that Obama=type politics are little different than Chavismo.
So the right wingers are trying to save the country by taking away healthcare. It's that simple.

The thing is this -
Trump cares not a lick what is in this bill. Not a teeny tiny bit. And he STILL can't get it passed. It's a testament to his carpy political skillz.
Anyway, if you are right that the bill will pass, and you think it will pass tomorrow, you can make a carpload of money at predictit. Bet 22 cts, get a dollar tomorrow if you are right.
I won't bet, but I'm tempted. I think there is a good chance they pass this thing.

Well, everyone does end up dead. There's no denying that.
And if you're a Christian you know that "The poor you will always have with you".
So really, they're not wrong.

So the WH and Ryan made a rookie mistake - rushing a vote before they had the votes. They wanted to do it today for symbolic purposes - 7 years after ACA passed.
Now they'll regroup and hand out treats to conservatives to get the bill through the house.
interstingly, in the past they would have used earmarks to grease the skids, but they can't do that anymore. So leadership has little leverage.
I think the bill will pass eventually
Ryan is so weak he can't say no. He knew it was a pile and still tried to pitch it to his colleagues without bothering to explain why/how he thought it was better than the ACA. I doubt gen even read it.
You are probably right, it will pass, but it will be something completely different and hopefully not worse than this one. On the other hand, the WH may get beat up on this enough to change the topic and forget it ever happened. It's a new world.
Damn you for reminding us how millions of dumba$$es think in this country. How are we not doomed..
I just remembered this... brilliant and accurate to a fault

Must be a different one, since that Nate Silver gave Trump as favorable odds as found by any of the polling statisticians.
Are you using weasel words? Favorable odds == nonsense ???
The vitriol in politics is absurd. Ryan is one of the many people in politics who has an intellectual curiosity and knows the process of budgets, reconciliation and legislation inside and out. Trump is a make-up whore showman, who knows nothing of what is inside the bills he signs. Our country wouldn't run without people like Paul Ryan. He's actually sticking up for the common man more than others. The people blocking the vote are driven by special interests, and want to reduce medicare and screw over the common man.

Please these guys are not to be taken for real. They are only used because of arcane Senate rules to prevent a filibuster.
https://www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/2017/01/02/learning-from-cbos-history-of-incorrect-obamacare-projections/#3e53380846a7wow...Trump is forcing a vote in the House tomorrow. He says that they have one shot to replace o'care. Implying that if the AHCA fails, he won't help again to pass the next bill.
High stakes poker. Will the repubs fall in line as they usually do? Are the conservatives bluffing?
I suspect Trump wants this done Friday so he can have the weekend off.
But of course Trump lies about everything and everyone knows it, so his threat of 'one chance' is very empty. Since all on earth know he is a big fat liar.
(wait til an international crisis and the other side doesn't believe Trump's talk. That will be very hairy. Such is life with a president who lies all the time)

as usual, you completely miss the point.
The point of that tweet not the CBO projection.
It is that Trump swore to the deplorables that he would Never Cut Medicaid.
But this bill cuts medicaid by a massive amount.
Because Trump lies all the time about almost everything.
Dude, you trust him for some reason...but he will betray you just like he betrayed people who he swore would not see their medicaid cut.
Our country DOESNT run because of people like Paul Ryan. Think about the absurdity of the situation he's in. He cried foul for years over ACA and now that he has the chance to raise his voice and put forward a better plan he simply takes the pile of $hit Trump gives him, says "yes sir" and turns around and sells it to his colleagues knowing it's a bill he wouldn't have wanted and that no one else wants. He's done so many 180s and has only played it safe to save his own a$$. He's as bad as any of them. He's the speaker of the house, not a White House surrogate. And don't forget his marathon time lie.

If he's serious then there is no chance they'll get enough votes tomorrow. Makes it easier for him to slither out of this if he can simply say it's the politocians who screws this up. I would love for him to host a Q&A session on this bill. He wouldn't be able to tell you one thing that's in it. Our president is losing bigly

sure there is a chance. Remember these are the same conservative Repubs who swore they would shut down the gov't over the debt ceiling but then caved at the last second.
I'd expect the same here.
Betting markets are up to 39 cents that the bill will pass. Was 22 cents a couple hours ago.
