The country elected a racist, serial sex offender. It was no secret before the election.
Republicans in Alabama overwhelmingly voted for a pedo who publicly stated his preference for slavery and denying women the right to vote.. Because, that was when America was great. The only reason he lost was mobilized african american voters and a few young people. Turnout was enormous on both sides.
My broader point, November 6th is a long, long way off. Voters easily forget or "hold their nose." The Left needs far more than "We're not white supremacists."
You make a solid point. However, Trump’s indiscretions, gaffes, f*ckups and blunders continue to compound each day. If Trump were prudent, he would step back and stop creating such a stir. But that isn’t in his DNA. He is a megalomaniac and needs the attention. By November 6th, he will have so pissed off the electorate, that there will be a record turnout for a midterm election. I’m pretty sure African Americans were mobilized yesterday and are never going to forget his statements. Voters will overwhelmingly vote Democrat. It’s still an incredible long shot for a Democratic takeover of the House because of the seats up for election. However, If it were to happen, Trump would be impeached. If not, Democrats can close the gap and make Trump’s life miserable for the remainder of his term. Democrats will be helped by moderate Republicans who can’t stand Trump either.
And then there is the Flagpole scenario - the possibility that the investigation brings him down. I’m not as quite as confident as Flagpole, but I can only hope.
