Flynn was fired because during the transition period before Trump was inaugurated, Flynn was telling the Russians that the sanctions Obama put on them would not be upheld by Trump.
When this came out, he told Pence that he did not do that.
Then he was fired when it turned out that he lied to Pence. That he did, in fact, tell the Russians that Trump would not uphold sanctions.
The story at the time, was that Flynn did this on his own, without direction from Trump.
(Why would Trump fire him for doing what he was told?)
Now it turns it that Kushner directed Flynn to relay this to the Russians.
So he lied to the Feds initially, that he did this on his own.
So he is being charged with lying about who told him to do this.
Trump surely knew that Kushner directed Flynn to do this.
So basically Trump sent Flynn to make a deal with the Russians before he became president and had to fire him when that meeting became known.
In the end, Trump is the one responsible for this meeting.
So, if it was serious enough for Flynn to be fired shouldn't it be serious enough for Trump to be fired?
