I don't know what Trump will be charged with, but he will be indicted. Even obstruction of justice will likely be easy to prove. Papadopoulos pleading guilty and cooperating makes collusion charges even more likely for Trump. Time will tell, but this is just the beginning of many people getting charged.
Regarding his base, you're right, but that base is getting smaller and smaller. At some point Congress won't have a choice but to impeach.
I THINK this is the case. I believe there's enough to begin impeachment proceedings already, but I can wait for more dirt so that it's a slam dunk...all the way to conviction and removal. I hope the world and the US can wait though.
So, so silly. From a silly, silly man.

They indict a guy on alleged crimes from 5-10 years ago, and you try to act confident that’s it’s great news. Clsssic Flaggie.

What does that have to do with this thread?
Have you not been paying attention? He's a Trumpette. Anything and everything that diverts attention has to do with this thread.
Trumpers are admitting collusion now, right? We've known about that meeting in trump tower with jr, manafort and reps from Russian intel agencies. Now we know of papadopoulis setting up meetings with Russians connected to the kremlin.
Seriously - you guys have stopped denying collusion, right?
George Papadopoulos, the foreign policy adviser for Trump’s presidential campaign, has pleaded guilty to a charge of lying to FBI agents about “dirt” he was offered on Hillary Clinton. Prosecutors’ statement of the offense alleges Papadopoulos was offered thousands of emails containing “dirt” on Clinton in April 2016 ― months before the Russian hack of the Democratic National Committee was known.

The problem the GOP faces is that the more extreme elements are the more politically active elements. These are the sorts who bother in primaries, and they're being reinforced by people who had previously kept themselves outside of the political landscape, who are now beginning to join in as they discover that they finally have a party that represents them.
The passive conservative who sits at home is being run over. By the time the Bannon wing has primaried your candidates out of the party, you won't have a party.
At the moment the GOP senators and congress are simply too frightened to challenge Trump for fear of having 85% of the voting bloc turned on them. See what happened to Jeff Flake and what would have happened to Bob Corker
Your best hope probably lies with the likes of Michael Bloomberg to bank roll a center-right challenge, with the likes of Flake and Scarborough taking prominent roles. If it draws off just 5% of the Republican vote it stops Trump. Otherwise your party is gone.
Basically the support base has been fed radicalized Christianity, unhealthy patriotism, lies, and a diet of emotive hot button non-issues to get all sweaty about for decades. You shouldn't be too surprised that you end up with Donald Trump, but I would also say given the direction of travel, he might not be worst of just what this horrible cocktail of influences is capable of producing. The Republicans have created this monster, and like Dr Frankenstein, they've now lost control of it and are frankly too scared or too stupid to do anything.

Again, the charges stem from 2012. Any links to Russian collusion is pure delusion by you libs. Trump did not know Manafort in 2012.
I take it you haven't bothered to read the Papadopoulos indictment. Very, very bad news for Trump.
Come on, man - He's a Trumpette! You cannot expect him to actually read!

Dude, they are Trumppettes! When is the last time you saw a Trumpette admit to anything? Sorry, that's just not in the Trump playbook.
good post.
it'll never happen, but the idealist in me would love to see the moderate, governing wing republicans become Democrats. They move the Dem Party to the center, leaving the bannonites a zombie, half dead and useless republican party. Then the wise dems and reps run the country in a spirit of compromise and good policy. the bannonites can lie and chant 'lock her up' all they want but can't actually do anything.
but...abortion. that policy is such a wedge that there is no crossing. Maybe if Roe were overturned and the states could do what they want the problem would get off the federal table. Or maybe not. I dunno.

Oh, unoriginal user name dude, you are in denial if you think this all will have a dead end on Manafort's crimes from a decade ago. As others have said, Papadopoulos is a much bigger concern, and to some degree Gates is since he was around the campaign longer. Trump should be very concerned. Not sure if collusion will ever be proven to the point it can be taken to trial against him or others, but there is definitely evidence of it. Trump's biggest problem though is that they went back 11 years on Manafort, looking at financial dealings. They will do that to Trump also, and there is no way he is clean. So, guilty of collusion? I believe Trump and others in his campaign are, but it might not get to the point that we get that far. If there is low-hanging fruit of financial criminal behavior that leads to a potential impeachment, then I'm fine with that. However he is ousted, as long as it is legal and goes through the proper process, is fine with me.
You say I think this is great news. I don't think it is great news. It is sad news for our country...sad that people like you trusted Donald Trump to pick people of integrity. It is news though that is the first step in getting rid of Trump...whether that be by impeachment, arrest (not sure what step that would entail next), 25th Amendment, or (I can't imagine how he could last 3 more years in office) losing the election next time. This does not end with these three today. Trump's days are numbered (that's not a gleeful statement, just a factual one). Tick, tick, tick.
Meanwhile, in an alternate universe.....

Papadopoulos did try to get Russians to meet with Trump's campaign staff but was rejected every time. No meetings ever took place. He was charged with making a false disclosure/statement to the FBI. So what we have here is a financial & a disclosure crime having nothing to do with the 2016 election. Mueller looks desperate and biased.

$100K? If you have it (you don't) you'd better save it for your spiraling mental health expenses when Trump gets ass-raped and impeached.
Tough guy, huh?
