The beginning of the end for 45.
The beginning of the end for 45.
Paul Manafort began laundering money in 2012 when he was working with Podesta. Since no one cared back then, is this a political witch hunt or was Obama’s DOJ complicit? If the IRS wasn’t so busy going after conservative groups in 2012, they would have caught Manafort on tax evasion.
For all of you celebrating libs: a Manafort indictment will expose his connections to Podesta and be bad for you guys, not for Trump.

^This. As one former member of the intelligence community wrote this morning, "Manafort is low hanging fruit." I think many, including Flagpole and L L, are underestimating the extent of an investigation that was underway well over a year ago. Comey's firing did not lead to Manafort being charged. Mueller has just continued the work that was already in place. Expect Manafort to face additional charges. This is one domino. Expect Flynn to be charged soon as well. If Mueller is fired, it won't end the investigation and forthcoming charges against many, many, many people. Mostly GOP-related, but expect some Dems to face indictments. Country over party.
Trump, FOX news, Trump associates, etc. will continue to deflect, but they know this is just the tip of the iceberg.

See, Flagpole?
This what I am talking about.
These indictments of Trump's people changes nothing for Trump's base.
They will either try to spin it away from Trump or believe those that are spinning it away.

Independent here, but this is very, very bad for Trump. Bad for some Dems, really bad for the GOP.
Also unsealed indictment, George Papadopoulos, foreign policy advisor for Trump campaign, secretly pleaded guilty after lying about connections between Trump and Russia.

Again, the charges stem from 2012. Any links to Russian collusion is pure delusion by you libs. Trump did not know Manafort in 2012.

You could be right that Comey's firing didn't lead to Manafort being charged. I could accept that premise. Perhaps the firing will only lead to Trump's demise. I'd be fine with that. I agree that this is one domino and that others will fall.

I agree in general with you. I was just saying that ZERO was perhaps a bit too far. Trump followers are fools. He is a bad, bad guy.

I haven't heard anyone say "collusion" yet based on this. Unfortunately for you, there are many people who voted for Trump and would do so again who won't follow the news fully and will decide that there's a connection between the criminal Manafort and Trump so that they won't vote for him again. I don't think Trump will be on the ticket for 2020, but if so, this is just the start of bad news for him. Two dudes associated with Trump's campaign who have been charged with conspiracy against the United States. That isn't good no matter what.

Really?
Coming from you?
ZERO was perhaps too far?
As in ZERO chance ...

My guess is that this has no impact on the president and Trump loses zero support from his base.
Which is COMPLETELY JUSTIFIED, since the indictment has NOTHING to do with Russian "colluuuusssssion".

I take it you haven't bothered to read the Papadopoulos indictment. Very, very bad news for Trump.

Again, there will be no charges of collusion for Trump. Whoever gets caught up in the net, it won't matter for Trumps' base.

I don't know what Trump will be charged with, but he will be indicted. Even obstruction of justice will likely be easy to prove. Papadopoulos pleading guilty and cooperating makes collusion charges even more likely for Trump. Time will tell, but this is just the beginning of many people getting charged.
Regarding his base, you're right, but that base is getting smaller and smaller. At some point Congress won't have a choice but to impeach.

Supposed to be an inside joke, brother.
I'm assuming you haven't bothered to read about George Papadopoulos' guilty plea. That has nothing to do with Ukraine, and everything to do with the Trump campaign colluding with Russia. Yeah, right. Trump’s campaign advisor Papadopoulos pleading guilty to lying to the FBI about his Russian contacts has nothing to do with the campaign.

I THINK this is the case. I believe there's enough to begin impeachment proceedings already, but I can wait for more dirt so that it's a slam dunk...all the way to conviction and removal. I hope the world and the US can wait though.

Manafort has lived in Trump Tower since 2006.
Yes, anyone who thinks that Trump's campaign manager might have continued coordinating with pro-Russian interests after he laundered millions of pro-Russian money through New York real estate is DELUSIONAL.
Say, I wonder what two real-estate moguls from NYC like Kushner and Trump might know about NYC real-estate money laundering operations...
