Trump is coming out with a new social media company called "Truth Social". Pretty ironic name.

I don't really know how this works. The social media company is valued at $1.7B but where will the money come from when his parent company goes public? It seems like the Trump name is being sold but what income will the company generate?

Trump has shown over 40 years that he is able to stay relevant.
Not in my lifetime has a politician so completely connected with his fans on a deep emotional level.
Not in my lifetime has a group of voters so utterly loathed the other and wanted a leader to focus that hate.
To me, this adds up to a long-term connection to Trump, and probably he will run again in 2024, if he loses.
but it sounds like we won't agree on this.
Yeah, we can agree to disagree. I'll come back and tell you "I told you so" later. :)
This is from 10/26/20.
I think I won this argument, flagpole.
You said Trump would be forgotten.
instead he has locked down the GOP and turned it into his personal fund raising and political machine.
If Trump runs he will win the nomination, probably without any serious primary competition.

It's way too early to make that call. He's more of an angry old man now and is likely to be belligerent during the debates like he was for the 1st Biden one and continuing to claim he won in 2020 is getting to be pretty stale. Nikki Haley will have similar polices and dwarfs Trump in every possible way besides body weight.
He's never had to answer for 1/6 and running in 2024 will require him to explain why he went radio silent while the U.S. Capitol was under attack.
Meanwhile, the Jan 6 commission and the investigation into his request for election fraud in Georgia could bring him down.
I'm surprised there hasn't been a response to my post regarding his proposed social media platform. It's interesting stuff.
look, this won't be over until trump is dead, sure. But come on. This was what Flagpole wrote. It's not remotely correct.
Trump just had a 50,000 person rally somewhere in the confederacy. They are sending him millions of dollars. He is the only nationally relevant republican.
And no, the Dems won't pass any rules so another idiot won't break the laws. They can barely pass gas, let alone difficult legislation.
Flagpole: "Not when he's out of power. Democrats won't think about him at all after he's out of office other than to put some rules in place so another idiot can't ignore the law like he did. Trumpers won't be far behind in forgetting about him. They will get together with they racist Trumper families at the holidays and wax poetic about the days when they could be openly racist, but that's it. They won't be flocking to go buy Trump merchandise or to hear him speak. He'll be old news."
Sometimes, you have to wonder about Colonel Bone Spurs' critique of General Powell, after his passing. I guess Mr. Brave Heart didn't consider Powell a hero, since he was wounded in combat !?!

Meh. Up for debate at this point. I will admit that I'm a little surprised that he still has the level of appeal that he does, HOWEVER it is continuing to wane, and we are still more than 3 years away from the next Presidential election. McConnell has said it's time to move on. His rallies have been duds, and he was even booed when talking about vaccines. Many of his supporters have said they won't vote again because they buy his Big Lie that the election was stolen. I'm more than willing to admit when I'm wrong, but we're not at that point here yet.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkqgDoo_eZEYep...too early for agip to be making this call. I will admit I was wrong if and when the time comes.

INCORRECT!
Mueller is still coming. Many of the investigations into Trump and his company came out of the Mueller investigation. He's still in BIG TROUBLE due to both what Mueller pawned off and other things. Oh, and he's done. He lost. He will never win again. The rest of his life will continue to be failure after failure, and he will continue to lose net worth.
Trump will win in 2024! This thread will never die.

In your response you only briefly mentioned him being in "big trouble." You never mentioned him going to Rikers. It is more about "he lost. He will never wing again. The rest of his life will be failure after failure and his net worth will continue to decline." So, you are saying now that he will never go to Rikers?
agreed he has legal hurdles, but 90% chance that is simply dollars and not crimes, so no big deal electorally.
otherwise, he certainly doesn't have to explain anything to his people...they don't care what he does. He literally could shoot someone on 5th avenue.
Anyway, ok we'll wait another year but so far your predictions have been 180 degrees off course.
and geez - I wrote this a year ago and it's still completely correct. I nailed it.

Never underestimate the stupidity of those who only vote along party lines.
I have now began to see a re-emergence of Trump flags and banners in my city. It's as if the handful of failures and general mediocrity of Biden somehow mean Trump isn't still the worst President in American history.
Look at all the dumb taking place on this message board. The flat-earthers, anti-vaxxers are all over the place. These are the clowns who wouldn't think twice about voting for Trump.

Trumpers don't love Trump because of his policies.
They "love" him because of his indecency, belligerency, and vulgairy.
They "love" him because he is hated by people they hate.
Haley can act like that. She is a woman of color.
Only a white man could get away with what he does, and Trumpers love that.

No, prior to his announcing his campaign he had lost relevancy and that's why he ran. His T.V. show had run its course and while he had once been a good looking guy, he had become an overweight old man with bad hair.

I’d refine that just a tiny bit - but essentially agree.
They love trump because he fights against the elites who make the magas feel humiliated. They love that sense of fighting, not taking any crp, that kind of thing. They see regular Repubs as sickeningly weak. They want a strong man.
It sure isn’t policy, no. The trump policy is just to help the elites get even more elite.
A Quinnipiac University poll conducted Oct. 15-18 found Trump has an 86 percent favorable rating and just a 10 percent unfavorable rating among Republican adults.
A sizable majority of Republicans also actively want Trump to run again. By a 67 percent to 29 percent margin
