Yes lets raise the tax on the the populace and corporations as much as we can to pay for free healthcare for everyone that decides not to work, give them free disability, food stamps, SNAP, EBT, housing, and on, and on, and on. Oh and in my state, a free CC education, with no strings. You want that kind of life, move to Europe.
Are you going to claim that Americans are just plain stupider than the rest of the world's populace? Because the rest of the world is spending WAY less than we are on health care and the advanced nations generally provide better care than we do. So, is America just too stupid to be able to keep up with the rest of the world?
In my opinion the answer s 'no'. America could provide excellent health care for its citizens at a fraction of the cost as it stands today. So, your dreaded tax increase to achieve this would in reality be part of a net gain - a rather large net gain - for American pocketbooks as overall spending on health care was dramatically reduced.
Oh, and just in case you have a few functioning brain cells, it should be pointed out that health care is dramatically different than the other items you mention. So your oh-so-scary slippery slope inference is nothing more than a rather vacuous bogeyman.
In summary, please don't come on here with that weak shit.
