Well, Trump did not have a great chance of winning on election morning.
PA, WI and MI weren't even considered swing states. There were predicted solid blue and almost counted for Hillary going in.
If she won them, she'd be president.
And FL and NC looked to be easily favoring Hillary going in as well.
All of those 5 states going against the models on election day was quite surprising.
I actually thought there was a chance at a tie.
I thought VA may go to Trump but it didn't.
Never thought PA and MI would, though.
My comment about possibly being up late tells exactly what I was thinking. I thought Hillary would win but I was far from certain.

I didn't post any link.
Just figured I would point that out.
Sorry, I know I quoted you, but my comment was intended for "Rigged for Hillary" and the original post (which had a link).
Too bad you didn't have the guts to write about your doubts with Nate Silver. However, your fellow libs were already celebrating 538 as gospel truth & had no doubts Hillary had the race in the bag. When Election Day arrived, the lib echo chamber was expecting a coronation- it was practically a formality. Hillary had her acceptance speech ready to go. Bill was dreaming of new interns he could conquer. It was a matter of how quickly she would get those 270 electoral votes.
Your lib echo chamber buddies disagreed with you, not one of them had any doubts until FL went red (Agip, Rigged for Kaine, LL, Flagpole, Conundrum, XY, T-ReXXXing, foo, etc). Then panic ensued when the MI results came in.
Nice backpedal, though.

a few minutes spent on the Wikipedia entry for 'probability' would probably do you some good.

Tell that to flagpole.

I never backpedaled at all and I never had doubts about Nate Silver or his methods. I still don't. He does a good job.
Nate said Trump had an excellent chance of winning. That's what I stuck with. You can look at any post of mine before or after election day. I was very consistent.
Flagpole was the only one I remember saying that Trump had no chance at all. I also remember at first telling him he was being foolish. Then I stopped because I realized that he was just saying it to tweak guys like you.
It was fun, but you did get the last laugh.

Tell that to flagpole.
Pretty sure that eric a blair did point it out to Flagpole in very strong terms BEFORE the election.
Do try to keep up.

Wrong. It was angry man, T-Rex and he yelled at Flagpole on election night. You piss him off, he goes off on you- regardless of political party. Agip rarely if ever scolds a fellow lib.
NYTIMES:
"Our best guess right now is that Donald Trump is on track to win."
Thanks Flagpole. You cursed us all. (after tonight, PLEASE NEVER MAKE A PREDICTION, AND CERTAINLY NOT A "GUARANTEE", EVER......AGAIN.)

from 9/20/16, agip critizing Flagpole's prediction.

Flagpole...I wish I could agree with you on this 100% thing. I mean NY or CA going for HRC or Mississippi going for Trump...those are 99.999%
But the whole nation? remember when Michigan went for bernie despite all polls saying HRC was fine there? These things happen. Polls are just probabilities. With margins of error. That can go wrong.
Politics is not a 100% game...

You are amazing. You are a minority neo-nazis. Even the name calling for someone who looks different "lily white twats", they have names just like that for the minorities. They HATE liberals, they worship the NRA, and they use as many vulgarities as you do. This group feeds on hate, aggression, NRA, threatening liberals...they are YOU! They were even a bit extreme for me but they are just like you.Do you have a weapons stock like they do.....I bet you do!

Lets look at some interesting information, specifically concerning people that have great credentials and think they are better than everyone else. I bring this up to caution people that think "scientists" are infallible. I especially want to bring attention to people that think you should trust "scientists" 100% because they are "experts."Prof. Sam Wang has academic expertise in biophysics and neuroscience. In these fields he uses probability and statistics to analyze complex experimental data, and has published over eighty papers using these approaches. Seriously, this guy's research should called into question.
Here he is bashing Nate Silver (who only has a bachelor's degree in economics), who was still way off!
