Another good quote.
This time from Bill Maher:
Maybe China isn't hiding all their COVID deaths. Maybe their secret is that their obesity rate is 6 percent while ours is 42.
China is also the most surveilled country. It must help in contact tracing.
https://www.comparitech.com/vpn-privacy/the-worlds-most-surveilled-cities/Maher is full of garbage of late. He has been unable to adjust to doing his show without audiences and he falls flat every week. I just don't find him persuasive of late nor entertaining. As far as China and their COVID status, of course it helps to control a virus when you control and can tamp down every single human being in the country. If there is an advantage of totalitarianism, I guess that's it.

That’s why it’s a wasted opportunity for the so called champion of democracy. We don’t need totalitarianism to prevent COVID from spreading, but we look like the dysfunctional idiot democracy that we are.
There will be no media coverage of the Republican Convention. It will be done in secret.
I don't blame the republicans. I would be ashamed of nominating Trump and wouldn't want anyone to see it either.
I agree on Bill Maher. I can't watch him anymore.
I used to watch Real Time every Friday night.
Not for his stand up or opinions, but because he assembled a good panel and they had good discussions.
He usually had people of opposing ideology.
His monologue now with the laugh track is terrible.
His one-on-one interviews are bad. He had stopped having a panel and talked to people one at a time (maybe that has changed).
He just seems to complain now.
Last year, he openly rooted for a recession before the election.
Well he got it and complains he can't travel and do his act.
He's an old fart now.
The next couple of weeks should take some of the focus off the President (unless he does something *really* stupid) and shift it to his Senate enablers.
When people start being evicted wholesale from their rentals and thousands have their mortgages foreclosed, the Senate will have much to answer for.
Now, I know they'll try to shift the blame to the Dems. "We made a proposal and they shot it down!" But I don't think they'll be able to sell that very well: That was just a stopgap (and not much of one), not a comprehensive bill.
For months Mitch McConnell has deliberately avoided allowing any tough votes that might make GOP senators who are up for re-election this fall look bad. But that has devolved into virtually no meaningful votes at all. The Senate is now reduced to a judge-confirming body.
The GOP can't even get itself together enough to make a counterproposal to the COVID relief bill that the House passed a couple months ago. Enhanced unemployment payments are ending, and there's no particular reaon to think the Republican senators will cobble together a bill in the next couple weeks--let alone negotiate something that the House would accept.
It's hard to imagine that a comprehensive relief bill could get passed/signed before Labor Day. August is going to be a hellish month for a lot of Americans.
For a long time I've had a tiny bit of sympathy for Donald Trump--or at least more than for the Senate. Trump never expected to win the presidency, doesn't have the tools to conduct it effectively, and is just flailing--which is about what you'd expect from anyone who's placed in a job that's well beyond his capacity, and can't escape it.
Congress is supposed to balance the President. McConnell and company decided to be POTUS's enablers instead--to *help* him flail. He didn't have any experience in government; they do, and they abdicated their duty. I have no sympathy for them, and I believe the country would be better off if every GOP senator who is up for re-election were defeated.
And this is coming from someone who's been a voter for decades, and has never yet voted on the Democratic line.

Another issue is the turnout is expected to be Tulsa II ... failure to fill up the room.
There is also likely to be a lot of screaming and yelling and dissent.
The GOP will claim Trump's nomination was in total solidarity --zero dissent-- and that the place was packed to the rafters. The reality is the event will be a total cluster-f_ck.

Lol - boxed themselves in pretty badly didn’t they? If they hold one in person they risk spreading and catching COVID, since there is a high likelihood that some republicans have it and don’t know. If they hold one virtually they look like losers finally giving in to the reality which they have denied since the outbreak. So just pretend to have held one with no footage and no conclusive support for the leader since that seems to have started carrying some baggage recently. Covidiots.
It’s all fun and games at the trump circus until people run out of money or die. Sadly it’s taking a lot of death just to make some mouth breathers rethink their support for the orange deity.

Well....Trump tweeted that he beat Obama in 2016 this morning so it's not odd that RFH would follow along and have no idea when Clinton was President.
As to GOPers pointing out Clinton regarding the Epstein caper.....be careful what you wish for.
Biff can't honestly comment on Biden's mental health again after that. Trump thinks he beat Obama in 2016? On what planet? He couldn't even get rid of Obamacare let alone beat Obama at anything. Obama had finished his max two terms, you Orange moron.

Dementia Joe will NEVER be POTUS.
Interesting day yesterday...
POTUS makes unscheduled trip to Walter Reed Hospital. Returns to White House with a large bruise on his right hand (from IV catheter insertion?) and carrying a stack of newspapers (he never carries anything for himself - trying to hide the bruise and a tremor in his right hand/arm as he walks past the press pool?).
Did he have another left side TIA (mini stroke)?

Joe thought his son was AG of the United States. Donald Trump has done the hard interview with Chris Wallace. Wallace has asked repeatedly for the Biden campaign to offer up Joe for an interview. They are so fearful of Biden making calamitous mistakes that they have refused those requests. Joe Biden is not up to being president. Trump is a turd and a scumbucket and everything else but he has cogency. He has lucidity. Biden has no clue what he did 5 years ago. Like Rigged has said, he belongs in a nursing home - not the Oval Office.

He may have fallen down a slight incline. Or, fallen down steps. He has lost motor control of his lower right leg .. due to one, or more, prior strokes.

Maybe one of his kids.
Note that the first video is from late January. The second from late July. The right leg problem is becoming more noticeable just like the post from January stated was likely.

The only thing difficult to mask is why Trump has ended up at Walter Reed for unscheduled pit stops.

Trump doesn't know what he did 3.5 years ago. He thinks he beat Obama as he tweeted yesterday. Then he went to Walter Reed.
