7/31 Data
Loads of bad news but a couple of green shoots.
all analysis is on 7 day rolling average of daily deaths.
The good news is that if you remove Brazil and the US from the numbers, that 7 day average peaked on Tuesday and has fallen each day since.
But if you include BZ and the US, all is bad.
World: New cyclical high
USA: New cyclical high
What a colossal failure the US has been in covid management.
India is starting to go in the right direction. Still 700+ deaths every day but seems to have started down the back of the curve or at least plateaued,
The 4 problem states are massive problems.
FL: all time high
CA: all time high
TX: all time high
AZ: continues on a very high plateau.
The is the worst bit: If you add those 4 states into one giant mega problem deathstate, that state is rapidly getting worse.
Looking at the 7 day rolling average of deaths. How much that number changed week over week in combined CA FL TX AZ:
July 27: +12% worse
July 28: 14% worse
July 29: 19% worse
July 30: 20% worse
July 31: 29% worse
That's some serious disaster stuff and those numbers are getting very large.
I'll end with NYC. No signs of much of any COVID there. 1-2 deaths per day out of 8 million people. No increase in cases either. Clearly Americans are capable of stopping COVID. Come on Southerners.
