Silent majority is going to shock the world again!!!
"Again"?
What was the first time? Are you referring to Nixon's use of the term in his first term?

What is this "silent majority"? His base, "Build the Wall", "Lock her up" and "U.S.A." are hardly silent and about half the voters hate Trump's guts. Who are these silent people and of what group are they the majority?
Here's Michael Cohen's lawyer's take on what the Manhattan DA can do with Trump's tax returns.
Bottom line: Thanks to the hard evidence Cohen provided (and other evidence I assume Vance's team has independently obtained), there is a good chance that Trump will be indicted for a variety of New York state crimes. And if and when there is a criminal trial of Trump, all his tax returns and relevant financial statements will be made public.
Also, specific to the discussion here a few pages back about Trump's practice of inflating the value of his assets in order to obtain bank loans while diminishing the value of those same assets for tax purposes, Davis had this to say:
Cohen also displayed several Trump financial statements during the hearing. He stated in sworn testimony that he knew from personal knowledge that Trump sometimes artificially inflated his assets in order to obtain a larger bank loan. Then, when it came time to paying property taxes, such as regarding his owned New York golf course, Trump caused the value of the golf course property to be reduced (on the same financial statement previously used for banks) downward in order to reduce his state property taxes.
What did he say about teachers, administrators, and facilities workers?
Look, everybody wants to see the schools open.
But this school year will be devastating to the nation's children no matter what. As long as we continue to let the virus spread out of control we can not open the schools. It just won't work. If we try to reopen then we will have to close again as soon as there is a confirmed case. For many schools that will be on the very first day.

We should really stop with the drinking thing. Everybody knows that Tiny needed two hands because he just finished a 20 miler at 4:45 pace. It makes you fatigued and a little shaky. We've all been there.

Even at its peak in 2016 it was a minority. Hillary won more votes.
It is not and never has been a silent majority, it is a loud mouthed minority.

The CDC disagrees.
"Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Robert Redfield said Thursday that the health risks of keeping schools closed are greater than those of opening them, amid a push by President Trump to have students in classrooms this fall."
"I'm of the point of view as a public health leader in this nation, that having the schools actually closed is a greater public health threat to the children than having the schools reopen," Redfield told The Hill's Steve Clemons.
“I don’t think we should go overboard in trying to develop a system that doesn’t recognize the reality that this virus really is relatively benign to those of us that are under the age of 20,” Redfield said.
Interesting, and a useful addition to the discussion.
Thanks.

Behind a paywall. I bet you didn't read it.
But even your MD says, "One thing about Covid-19 is clear: We don't fully understand its severity and transmission."
That's so reassuring.
You can't have school without teachers, and we'll see what the teachers have to say about school re-opening. You can expect some resistance from teachers who won't feel safe returning to the classroom.

I was a bit shocked when I saw that too. But I shouldn't be. It's simple math. Florida's exponential growth curve keeps getting steeper and they aren't doing anything substantive to stop the climb.
Hopefully, more Florida residents are choosing on their own to stay at home.
But has the governor there done anything at all to flatten the curve?
Disney World just opened yesterday.
I’m ready to make a prediction - trump is going to lose in Florida. With the polling of seniors showing such an extreme swing and the governor’s total recklessness, bodies are only beginning to pile up. Unless COVID or Republicans prevent people from voting he is going to have a very hard time winning here.
Nope. Trump will win FL & be reelected.
Cankles 2.0
Enjoy your loss.

Btw - how are things by you?
Ohio is having a resurgence of cases, especially Central Ohio where I live. Our Republican Governor did a great job initially and I think is beginning to again, but it appears he did open things up a tad early. I can't really fault him though because Ohio showed a serious flattening of the curve, and initially that was the stated goal of the lockdown. I would have done exactly what our governor did had I been governor. He is a very good leader, defers to scientific experts, etc. It is possible that the whole country needs to rethink our approach to this virus. The deaths are bad enough, but the fact that it can cause permanent damage to lungs, brain, and other organs for those who live is really horrible.

Feel bad for the guy and his family, it's a terrible way to go and at such a young age.
Ironic that he complained about negativity, but virtually all of his posts in that montage were negative.

Agreed, sad story but hopefully a lesson for the rest of us.
