Good question. I guess most of the time but other times they are saying anything just to do to battle for their tribe.
Thanks, Condundrum. I do not come here to post troll threads. I am still not even entirely sure what "Troll means." I guess you are trying to "bait" meone into reacting to your post. You guys often are aligned and post stuff that I find entirely way off from how I feel. But I respect your opinion. I am almost always posting my sincere beliefs/views but you guys really attack me a lot (which I welcome) and I might "juice" up my response.
Man, why did you have to make a nice post to me? You are in the other tribe, you have battles with posters with whom I identify. Now you give me a nice post, do realize the cognitive dissonance that has created for me? (Just between you and me, thanks for the comment)
I see trolling on a continuum.
1st degree trolling - that's when you make a completely fake post, a made up story, pretending you are somebody else, taking a political position the opposite of what you actually belief only to ridicule it.
2nd degree trolling - that could be mostly truthful but you purposely include false information that you know is clearly made up.
3rd degree trolling - doesn't include an objective falsehood but includes pictures or caricatures or parodies designed to bother and annoy others, also included in third degree trolling is the use of names to ridicule another poster.
4th degree trolling - when making a truthful argument but you purposely phrase it in such way not only to communicate information and argue your point but in a way that you think will maximally annoy the other person.
