So, wait--someone already pointed out that that's a map of RICHARD NIXON's win in 1972--followed by his EXIT in 1974--and you're STILL using it?!?
Donald Trump did not repeat RMN's landslide in 2016 and won't in 2020.
But in a sense you are right: If someone with that big a win could be chased a couple years later, what could happen to someone with a squeaky win?
"Try" to impeach Trump's ACTUAL win? Not a lot of "trying" needed. EASY PEASY.
I thought I had cleared this up earlier but I guess not. I'll try to put this to rest:
1. The map Trump tweeted is indeed the 2016 map. It is not the 1972 map. I don't know where people are getting that it's the 1972 map but it's not. It is, in fact, the 2016 county-level map.
2. As others have said, "people vote, not land," so that while Trump's map is technically correct, it's blatantly disingenuous.
3. Trump is truly loathsome. If I'm arrested for murder, I'm not going to tweet out "they'll never convict me...look how popular I am!" Popularity has no bearing on whether or not you committed a crime.
4. Of course, Trump may be sort of right, in that he's (right now at least) just popular enough to avoid conviction (even if he isn't as popular as he says or as the map implies).
