View from an enlightened republican:
The democrats have put up some weak candidates. Warren and Sanders want to experiment and fundamentally change our capitalistic system and reward failure. Biden is not as dangerous, but doesn't have the clarity of thought or leadership capability.
But Trump has so much baggage he will likely lose to any of these these, especially Warren and biden. The Trump show and his lack of ethics have become an albatross to our party. 23% of Republicans now feel he should be impeached. That number is growing.
Of course Trump held up Ukraine's payment to get the weasel Zelensky to investigate Biden. We know it wasn't just because Trump suddenly was concerned about corruption. Trump wanted election help. Enlightened republicans know this although some of us feel it was clearly wrong some of us also feel there is no technical proof and that even if true it doesn't warrant impeachment. I don't agree with them.
I and some enlightened republicans see trump as bringing the party down with him into his ethical abyss and increasing unpopularity. We need to jettison trump and replace him with romney. If we dont, we risk 4 years of Elizabeth Warren and her give aways and rewards to those making poor decisions.
Republicans throw off the trump shackles, move on to a candidate who is ethical and one we can be proud of or risk the very unpleasant Democrat alternatives. I know my turning on Trump will anger some of my fellow republicans, but it's coming, and as a businessman I know early on when a deal is starting to go sour.
It's time for the board to ditch our CEO.
