I don't think Trump committed a crime in this Ukrainian thing.
It's a betrayal of the nation and impeachable, but not a crime as in breaking a written law.
As I understand it.

I am also not a fan of all the power to one party even if it is all for Democrats, though I might have to change my opinion on that. The OLD GOP actually had SOME good ideas, and it was a decent balance to the Democrats. Today's GOP, which is nothing like the pre-Trump GOP, is toxic to the core. I agree that obstructionism needs to end. There needs to be a change in some Senate rules. The majority leader should not be able to decide if something comes to the floor for a vote. That is too much power to one person.

There will be a perception problem, but only because the bulk of Americans don't pay attention and aren't properly informed.
Some things:
1) While SOME Democrats have been screaming for impeachment for 2 years, most of the leadership has not been.
2) What has caused Democrats to act now is that this is NEW behavior from the President, he has admitted to a crime, it has to do with behavior that could affect an upcoming election rather than a past one (can't be accused of sour grapes due to election result), and this situation has been described as "urgent concern" by the IC IG, a Trump appointee.

ok well that's interessting.
but really...we've given massively wide rights for the president to conduct foreign policy...hard to see this legally different than any president pushing for an agenda overseas that would get him votes.
I mean trump's behavior here IS morally different, but legally different? I doubt it. Presidents get to run foreign policy.
Dems jumped on this because he admitted to talking to Ukraine about Biden... and now the transcript is showing that was the reason for the call and he asked for the favor. He tried to solicit aid for his campaign from a foreign power and admitted it... that is criminal
“I would like you to do us a favor though because our country has been through a lot and Ukraine knows a lot about it."
this readout of the call is basically a confession
The Ukraine prez says they want to buy guns and stuff.
right after that spanks says hey there's this favor I need.
I mean how the F did the WH think this thing was a help?
It's like when junior released the emails saying he would LOVE to get dirt from russia on HRC.
Impeachment is on. He's just confessed.

The devil is in the details. The transcript shows he was just barely vague enough to leave room for variable interpretation, and also not very many people care that much to begin with.
I'm surprised Republicans haven't pulled the "Bob Menendez" card. That guy had a legit mafia backed quid-pro-quo scheme for years between his office and Puerto Rico and not only did he get acquitted, he got re-elected!

I don't think that's vague. He will be impeached, and it is getting closer and closer to the Senate perhaps even removing him.
This is an assault on America.

How disappointed will you be when he doesn't get impeached?
As we all suspected, there he has probably committed dozens of crimes like this, but when you are protected by those around you its easy to avoid consequences... see, this came from someone with access who said enough is enough.
Rigged, Sally - care to opine?

Just like Clownpole, Eddie Munster’s never been right. He’s a butthurt never Trumper since the day he was rejected as a possible Supreme Court nominee. Joe DiGenova remarked “Napolitano is a fool.”

'disappointed' is the wrong word.
I'll be angry if there is no serious impeachment inquiry.
If he is not impeached...how I feel will depend on the evidence and what experts say about the situation.
If the evidence and experts tell me that what trump did is not that big a deal and there is no impeachment, then I won't be disappointed.
I'll only be disappointed if the Dems wimp out becasue of lack of backbone.

I am not calling for it yet (and have already conceded that my previous prediction that the Senate would remove him appears to be incorrect), but this is really really bad. This is just one phone call and the whistle blower says there is more. Republicans are so corrupt that the Senate will probably not convict him, but it is going to get worse from here, and they MIGHT just have to do it.
It will not get better for Trump from here on out.
The headline is so big and scary with huge font on CNN that it looks like it was designed by rojo.

Presidents do NOT get to ask a foreign power to investigate a political rival.
Botox Pelosi just said she hasn't read the transcript yet. That's a full admission that she went for impeachment with ZERO facts. Impeach first, read later. Just like passing Obamacare.
“We’ve got to pass the impeachment to know what’s in the impeachment.”- Botox Pelosi
Pelosi didn't need the transcript and hasn't proceeded with impeachment. This is an impeachment inquiry.
She had his public admission that he asked Ukraine to look into Biden and the hard facts that he held up the aid to Ukraine that was appropriated by Congress.
She probably thought Trump would block the transcript anyway.
Regardless, Trump is a habitual line stepper and he stepped too far over this line.
