In regards to Trump impeachment one Republican described it as “a Low-T” effort. Some said Pelosi remarked it was Nadler’s “Moby Dick obsession.” I wouldn’t describe this thread as a “Low-T” effort, but certainly seems to me a “Moby Dick obsession.”

another possibility is something we already know - that Trump offered something to Ukraine if they would investigate the Biden family's business there.
or the reverse...telling Ukraine we would do something bad to them unless they investigated Bidens.
The gray area on that one is that it's not technically intelligence so the whistleblow might not be required to be told to the congress. but if that's what the whistleblow is...it's pretty weak since we already know trump did this, I think.
Awful how rigged, sally and willy are dead quiet about trump's wild abuses.
sally says trump is a bad person but a great president. Yeah this is great, sally. Great presidenting.

It might be an issue to dismiss as inconsequential or overreacting on the part of the whistleblower except for the fact that the WH is stepping in the way. That's the more telling part of the story. So it probably is something significant.
maybe. but rememeber that the WH has taken the position that it will not cooperate with the house oversight committees in any way shape or form. The WH refuses to agree that the house has oversight rights over the exec branch. So this could be just one more piece of that. Just refuse everything, every time. automatically.
But still...to freak out an IC official whatever trump said must have been something.
This may surprise some of you, but I don't think this is a big deal at all. Phil Mudd, whom I respect, was adamant that the President can say anything he wants to anyone at any time. I actually wholeheartedly agree with that, as long as he isn't breaking a law or attempting to. Rush Limbaugh said the same thing today on his stupid show, almost verbatim of what Phil Mudd said earlier, going so far as to give the same examples to prove his point that Mudd did (come up with your own thoughts, Rush!)
I'm not one to want to give Trump an inch on anything, but he can SAY anything he wants to a foreign leader, as long as he isn't breaking a law. I have no doubt that what he said was shocking to the whistle blower, but as we sit today, I think this has been blown way out of proportion. Most things Trump does deserves serious scrutiny and scorn, but from what we know on this one so far, I don't think so. No matter how crooked he is or how illegitimate he is, he currently IS the President, and he can say, he can promise to any foreign leader, anything he wants to (as long again, as it isn't breaking a law...and maybe that's what happened here, but that's too much speculating to assume so).

Trump sues to try to stop tax returns from being sent to NY prosecutor
Here is their argument (really):
"Virtually 'all legal commenters agree' that a sitting President of the United States is not 'subject to the criminal process' while he is in office,"
Trump is above the law
Asking for tax returns is not a criminal process. He can be forced to pay a fine for tax "errors" he made. That is usually what happens, but Trump is ignorantly turning it into a criminal process but attempt to evade a legal right the state has to investigate tax "errors". What's next, Trump suing to prevent the IRS from auditing his taxes?
Flagpole - please address these 3 guarantees you made ...
1) Trump would be impeached
2) The Senate would have enough votes to convict and remove him
3) Trump will resign knowing he is doomed.
None of these are happening.
Of the foreign leaders that Trump spoke to in the weeks before the whistleblower filed a claim the notable people Trump spoke with a Kim and Putin. Kim is not it. Putin has a lot more to offer Trump than anyone else, and Trump has a lot to offer Putin. Putin could well decide to create more chaos in the U.S. by letting Trump hang and lose in 2020.
Who would have guessed?
GOP political consultant and fund raiser Kelley Rogers pleaded guilty to wire fraud. His PAC, Conservative Majority Fund, which since 2012 has raised close to $10 million — mostly from small-dollar donors, many of them elderly — while giving out just $48,400 to politicians. And that is just ONE of this clown's PACs.
So, 99.5% "management" fees. . . . . . LOL
would this be ok, if true, flagpole? pressuring a nation into investigating your political opponent?
this could easily be what the whistleblower is calling out. And it's a totally trumpy thing to do. He would see this as totally normal behavior, no doubt.

Noted ... Flagpole will not address these guarantees. Running like a deer in headlights.

How could he sue to prevent the IRS from auditing his taxes? The IRS apparently has been auditing his taxes since 2015 at least!
Now, since I have had a flurry of vacations with another one looming (not typical for me to have so many vacations back to back...just worked out that way this year) and have had some long stretches away, let's be clear on some things:
1) The House will impeach Trump.
2) Trump will not win in 2020.
3) Trump will go to prison when he is out of office, unless he dies first or space aliens or criminal behavior prevents it.
Also, the only people other than elected officials, who continue to support Trump are one of two things:
1) JUST stupid.
2) Racist.
There are no other possibilities.
Mueller is still coming.
The clown is done.
There are LOTS of things that would not be ok for him to have done, but again, I said "as long as he isn't breaking a law or attempting to". We had/have a LOT more evidence of his other wrongdoings than we do YET with this particular thing. Remember that for a long time I did not think Trump would go to prison, and Fat Hurts was the lead on that here, BUT eventually when we got more info, I jumped on the prison bandwagon, and I am still there. He will go to prison. I'm waiting for more info on this bad act of the day. I don't believe Trump has a moral bone in his body, so it will not shock me at all to learn he DID do something categorically illegal, but I'm not putting him on the street ON THIS just yet.
I try not to get too excited about these things, but the "whistleblower" affair looks like it's got legs.
I read the two letters from the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community. Michael Atkinson appears to be the first truly honorable man in the administration. And he appears ready to fall on his sword to make sure that the whistleblower is protected, the whistleblower law is carried out, and congress gets the information it is entitled to.
The fact that Atkinson is risking it all tells me that there must be something truly damning about the president in the allegations.
Here are the letters from Atkinson to Schiff and Nunes:

You seem to unaware that Trump has been meddling with the automatic audit of his presidential tax returns.

Thanks for reminding me. I haven't said this in a long time but it's still true.....
Tiny is going to prison.
Fat Hurts - serious bet. I will bet you $10,000 that he does not go to prison. YOu on?

Not sure what makes you think that. I was making a comment about Trump saying his taxes have been under audit since 2015 as his reason for not supplying them. That has nothing to do with what else might be going on with regard to trying to get his taxes.
Fatpolian, LOL!!!
A Fat Flop
on the WH refusal to tell the house what the complaint is....
the wh defense is interesting.
they're saying the law forces complaints to be handed over to congress if immediate and concerning intelligence.
so the WH is saying the complaint has nothing to do with intelligence.
presumably it's diplomacy or defense or whatnot.
f'in trumps.

Yeah. It's true. He is going to prison.
