Sally and other trumpers much more focused on gotcha point scoring and optics than what is right/wrong and sound/extreme. Trump has exhibited arguably the most despicable behavior and example for any POTUS and has unarguably deployed divisive tactics. Trumpers have been hanging on to the end justifying the means and unfortunately the end goals are not even well aligned with America’s core and traditional values. As far as the means he’s used, well I think that speaks for itself. Trump is repugnant and so is anyone still supporting him.

Hardcore, rightwing, conspiracy website 4Chan somehow announced Epstein's death 38 minutes before the authorities released the information to all media. . . . . Smells like a Trump staffer got that news to a Trump favorite site a bit too far out in front. Oops.

On a semi-related note- Did anyone else notice how the Lefty news outlets simply didn't cover the unsealed names story last Friday? The news came out around 2:00 that former Clinton admin official Bill Richardson, former Maine Senator George Mitchell, and a few others, including Prince Andrew were named in this first dump of unsealed names that one of the girls said she was forced to have sex with.
Fox and several right-leaning internet outlets covered it right away. Nothing from CNN. Then even outlets like Vanity Fair covered it around 4:30. Still nothing from CNN. Then even NBC/CBS posted the story around 7:00. CNN didn't mention it on their website until, get this- 4:57am the next morning... just prior to the news of Epstein's death coming out. And even then, the CNN article didn't mention Richardson and Mitchell's names until almost the end of the article.
MSNBC, of course, still hasn't mentioned it. You know what all their primetime shows were about last Friday? The "possible" illegal aliens working at Trump resorts. Unreal times we're living in.

Rigged believes his heritage (or whatever is left of it) means it is not possible for him to be a bigot. You know, like his explanation for trump not being a racist because he posed for pictures next to black people. So if you have foreign roots or took pictures with minorities no matter what you say and do, anyone who labels you a racist or bigot is just wrong. He’s just another irretrievably lost trumpee.

You never will. Your whole makeup is spewing profanities and calling people you don't even know here the worst names possible. What a pathetic life you must live to be like that. I feel sorry for you. God bless you.
long anecdotal piece in wapo talking about what we were discussing - whether evangelicals would separate from Trump.
the piece is all anecdote but the answer seems to be "no"
hard to believe evangelicals will weigh abortion in one hand and say 'but he said G-D so I suppose I'll have to vote for more abortions.'
"Interviews with 50 evangelical Christians in three battleground states — Florida, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — help explain why. In conversation, evangelical voters paint the portrait of the Trump they see: a president who acts like a bully but is fighting for them. A president who sees America like they do, a menacing place where white Christians feel mocked and threatened for their beliefs. A president who’s against abortion and gay rights and who has the economy humming to boot."
More hard hitting news from CNN.
This is their lead. What have they become?

Thanks for the link! Many of us have been saying the same thing.

Maybe it's easier for me because I'm closely related to some evangelical Trumpists, but I see exactly where they're going with their votes in 2020. They'll be voting for Trump en masse and (most of them) won't even be holding their noses as they do so.
Yep. Blame the sin not the sinner!!! It's all about abortion and gays. Nothing else matters. Everything Trump does or will ever do can be forgiven.
Alan
Plus it looks like a Supreme Court decision on the recently enacted laws in Georgia, Alabama, and the like should be coming down in the first half of 2020. That will help keep the abortion issue squarely in the news cycle
I haven't read the article yet, but my point is that Tiny's sinful behavior can be turned against him with good marketing. Video of Tiny reeling off GD's sure makes for a powerful sound bite. You have to drive home the (correct) point that Tiny is not a Christian and therefore can't be trusted to carry water for the Christian community. He will not stand up for Christian values in a second term. There will be no incentive to appoint pro-life judges. He will ramp up the policy that takes babies from their parents. If you can drive down white evangelical turnout by just a few percentage points it will make a huge difference up and down the ballot.
Evangelicals who vote for him hate gays, poor people, and minorities. They aren't anymore Christian than Trump is (not that I'm one to judge or anything). Cognitive dissonance is strong with those people and it takes a once in a generation genius level intellect and political savvy to manipulate them out of it. I'm talking like Einstein combined with Alexander Hamilton

Do you think his evangelical voters (EVs) will find that offensive or reprehensible? Those are BROWN babies (not "real" ones) being taken from their parents--an EV *loves* that, because "that's what they get."
It's true that losing even 100,000 key evengelical voters in key areas, say suburban Iowa or WI, could turn the election. My guess is that young evangelicals, esp women, might drop off the Trump voting rolls. But on the other side of the ledger Trump will inspire great turnout from other groups of evangelicals.
