I actually agree, except all these jobs should pay a living wage.
Prisoners should make $8 an hour instead of the going rate of under a dollar. They already get room and board.
Everyone else makes at least $15 an hour.
Then more Americans would do these jobs. You could raise a family doing manual labor on a farm.
Secondly, you need to get strict with employers. Make sure everyone is following the employment rules. If they hire undocumented workers, the employer goes to jail.
At that point you can get guest workers from other countries if jobs still go unfilled.
Then you don't need walls, armies at the border, or huge deportation forces. You treat everyone with dignity and respect no matter who they are or where they come from. It would also reduce the need for government services like housing assistance and food stamps.
A living wage solves a lot of problems. It's a lot cheaper and it works.
