1) Notice that, precisely as I predicted, Sally has made multiple responses to my post but failed to make an apology or retraction for falsely implying that a) Elijah Cummings governed his district, and b) some kind of "first neutral country" doctrine governs claims for asylum. (What does "neutral country" even mean in that context?)

2) I've been a voter for nearly half a century and never once pulled the Dem lever for any office in any election. "Liberal," my ass . . . I'm just that strange kind of person who wants to see a decent human being in the Oval Office.
. . . Because this country is *safer* when led by a decent human being whom our allies and trading partners can rely on for consistency, and who can send *consistent* messages to the governments and other parties that wish us ill. THAT is "effective" governing.

3) On more than one occasion I have pointed out not only that Donald Trump is the president of all American citizens (and legal residents), but that he won the election fair and square: He got more votes in the Electoral College and that is how the game is played, PERIOD. What *I* find fascinating is that Trumpists seem to think that DJT should be immune to protest and disagreement with his current policies and actions.
And what they *really* seem to mean, when they say Trump is every American's president, is "Our guy won! Nanny-nanny-woo-woo! We won and you suck!" For them, literally the highest point of this administration took place before Trump was even sworn in: the evening of the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November 2016. THEY'RE the ones who can't "let it go and move on" (to borrow their language); the people who are protesting, I've noticed, are protesting what's going on NOW.
