It isn't possible for there to be a group of individuals organized into a group without ANY core set of values (even ones that you find to be despicable). So, what are you suggesting are the GOP's core set of values?
are or were?
were:
NATO, allies, importance of character, free trade, budget discipline, religion, at least trying to hide racism, not subsidizing industries, being center right instead of wacky right, telling the truth, qualified people in government, lack of nepotism, favoring free speech, favoring freedom of religion, favoring freedom of the press...I could go on.
All they kept from old Rs are abortion, judges, cutting taxes and guns, right? Anything else?
I will take one away from your list. "Judges" is not a core value. It is a means of attaining goals related to core values.
So, you are left with abortion, cutting taxes and guns.
Now, for add-ons.
I would suggest that racism has become a core value for the party. How else to explain the bump in approval ratings and the almost orgasmic approval at Trump rallies for anything racist that Trump does or says? It seems as if anti-elitism is also a core value of the Trumpettes. Anti-universities, anti-arts, anti-media, anti-professors, anti-news, anti-science. Anti-truth, quite frankly.
