Trump sent her back.
Back to Minnesota.
Which happens to be a state that Trump thinks he can flip to him.

Not hope. It is desperation. He won't flip MN. His campaign knows they have pray to flip other states because they will lose FL, and likely lose TX as well.
how are we going to recover from these scorched earth republican politics?
they are breaking all the rules of normal modern democratic behavior.
can we go back?
I might just be getting old but it's hard to overstate the danger of republicans inviting nazism and racism into the body politic .
NYT editorial:
Donald Trump insists he’s not a racist. This is, increasingly, a bit beside the point. What is excruciatingly clear, and what matters most right now, is that he has chosen to ground his politics and his presidency in fomenting racial hatred. Whatever he may feel in his bones, he is an avid race warrior.
That is the meaning of the chant of “Send her back! Send her back! Send her back!” that resounded at his rally in Greenville, N.C., on Wednesday evening. An arena full of President Trump’s supporters roared those words after Mr. Trump aimed their animosity at Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, who immigrated from Somalia. He smeared her as trafficking in “vicious anti-Semitic screeds” and as a left-wing radical who sympathizes with Al Qaeda, hates America and “looks down with contempt on the hard-working Americans.”
Midwest voters agree and fully support trump on immigration.
Just say no to immigration!
Those of us not living in either bubble see the nuance in this dynamic. Trump and his impulses are vile. I didn't vote for him, would never vote for him. However, Omar and the other 'squad' members are identitarians of the worst kind. Omar has also flirted with anti-semitism many times in her public statements. AOC is a know-nothing kid who could not be elected in most of the districts in this country, and who engages in identity politics and virtue signaling endlessly. As put off as many of us are by Trump and his ilk, the fringe democrats are repulsive in their own right. Here we are, arguing about identity politics day in and day out, while significant issues like better healthcare solutions and larger pocketbook issues are ignored. This is not a democratic party I can get behind right now. I never thought I'd be one of those voters who just stayed home or didn't enter a tally for certain offices, but I could see myself going in that direction.
No nuance. the president of the united states has the unique responsibility to unite the nation. He is the only nationally elected politician. His job is to lead the nation toward unity in its best traditions. A president actively encouraging racial animus is in severe violation of his job description. A few back bench representatives who have small followings? Not even close to equal problems. Not even close.
^Trumpette poster to the CORE.
You are not fooling anyone, diehard Trumpanzee.
Not true. VP.
You vote for a ticket.

I know Republicans would like to paint AOC as stupid. According to them, she comes from a poor family in the Bronx, so she must be dumb.
But I dare you to watch her in a committee hearing or town hall. You will see that she is not just smart. She's extremely smart. You don't graduate with honors from Boston University without being very intelligent.
Nope, not in either tribe, nor in either bubble, happy to say. I'm a centrist who wants to vote democratic, was a leftie my entire adult life. I'm dismayed by the identity politics overtaking the democrats though. I will absolutely not vote for anyone supportive of identitarian thought and tribalism.
You are falling into the Trump trap of making the election Trump versus fringe leftists. None of the Squad is running for POTUS.
The election should be about Trump versus normalcy and decency.

good point. And technically there is no nationally elected politician at all - the president is elected in 50 state elections.
So my entire point is invalid.

Boston university is for democrat pieces of trash. Affirmative action pieces of trash get A’s for attending.

Thank goodness that the adults are leading the pack in this poll. An earlier poster said this election should be about Trump versus common decency. That's a valid point, but the dems need to shut up the kiddos (like the 'squad') for them to play role of reasonable people versus Trump. Freshman congressional reps need to lay low, do their job, and keep their mouths shut.

I don’t want to speak for another poster but I think Maddie is crap, annoying too, but mostly just not good at her job.
That of course is highly irrelevant to the link you’ve shared, you’re dragging Maddow into the discussion to distract from a link you’re incapable of defending.
The American people fully support trump on immigration.
Just say no to immigration!!!!
