Some will vote for Mayor Pete because he is gay.
It's no different from the millions who voted for Tiny because he is rich.
For some, life experience is the most important thing to look for in a president. I don't think that's the best way to choose, but doing so is not absurd. It's foolish, but not absurd.
Kansas had one of the worst economies in the Midwest when, in June 2017, its state legislature reversed former Gov. Sam Brownback’s disastrous tax cuts for the wealthy. And according to CNBC America’s Top States for Business study, Kansas is now the state with the most improved economy in the U.S. and is enjoying a budget surplus.
In 2018, Kansas’ economy came in at an embarrassing #45 in the Top States for Business study and at #35 overall — and since then, it has improved by 16 points in general as well as by 16 points in the economy category, according to CNBC.

One incredibly telling aspect of this is that when you talk about Democratic candidates for president, you can assume that whoever is anywhere near the front position is competent. Because Ds believe in government and smart, effective people become Ds to you know, serve the people.
So it isn't even needed to be said 'Mayor Pete is qualified and competent and able to work with the other side.'
Rs, on the other hand, lord knows how they judge their candidates. Bush2, Trump, Sarah Freakin' Palin. You can't assume any sort of competency with Rs. They don't even believe in government in the first place, for Pete's sake.
And they aspire to and worship the stupid.
Speaking different political languages, the Rs and Ds.
It's the economy, Trumpers wrote:

gawd I love this story so much. It shows the Rs to be so intellectually vapid and wrong.

Fat Hurts - I really doubt very many people voted for Trump because he is rich. Has there EVER been a presidential candidate whose supporters voted for he or she SOLELY because he or she was rich? Come on.
Dow record and S&P record highs today. Millions of voters liking their 401K's and this bodes well for a Trump victory next year.

The vast majority of Trumpers DO NOT have 401ks. (An apostrophe is not required.)
Too bad he thinks Dibabas are from a $hithole...

This year, US retailers have announced that 5,994 stores will close. That number already exceeds last year's total of 5,864 closures.

Who cares about the stupid fraction? President Trump has been fighting for the forgotten men and women of America from Day One. And he has created an unprecedented economic miracle after years of carnage. That's what matters to hard working real Americans.
I think what you mean is he likes to push the perception that he’s been fighting for the forgotten ones. That may work after all. All the major policies pushed by him and the GOP have hurt the forgotten ones, and badly. That continued robust economy from Obama’s time you mention - that’s hardly helping the average American with trump’s tax cut which has done nothing but further widen the wealth gap at the expense of those forgotten ones. You can go back to guzzling kool aid now.
That just shows that Trump is a very effective conman. Forgotten is not the only working class guy who actually believes Trump is looking out for them. Nothing will change Forgotten's mind.

You can thank Amazon for store closures. A Fleet Feet in our area just closed last week.

Yep, an expanding economy can't expand forever no matter who is president.

store closures are a real problem - in NYC, rich, thriving NYC, I've never seen so many shuttered store fronts. Not even in 2009. Amazon is causing a profound reshuffling of bricks retail.
It might be good - rents will fall and interesting new stores might come in. I hope.
But this is real.
Oh Snap!
I guess when you demean those who are highly educated, when you don't believe respected scientists, and when you prefer obscure blogs to established news sources for information its understandable why you don't select the most qualified candidates.
CORRECT! ALL of the Democrat candidates are worlds more qualified than Trump. Mayor Pete has more experience than Tiny did simply by being the mayor of a city, AND he's a former military guy also. Republicans used to respect that.
Republicans have gone off the deep end with Trump, and of course, anyone (non-elected officials) still supporting or defending him in any way is one of two things:
1) JUST stupid.
2) Racist.
There are NO other options.
It seems very strange to me that someone would ever grant any weight at all to what "they" said. To go further and let what "they" said dictate whom you will or will not vote for is simply inconceivable to me.

Let me get this straight ... You and Flagpole support Mayor Pete because he is ... drum roll please ... he has a fresh face, is wise beyond his years, and brings diversity.
BZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!
Post disallowed. Flagpole never answered your question on abortion. Therefore you cannot EVER respond to Flagpole. Unless, of course, you want to call yourself a liar.
When speaks of what "they" said he means himself in the first-person, second-person, and third-person. Whatever "they" Trump says is swallowed whole by his Trumpanzees.
