You are wrong to assume it is Iran. They do not have the guidance technology to make such missile strikes as was done on the tankers. One shot. Direct hit. The oil tankers were damaged but not destroyed on strike. Top-notch guidance and targeting--the level of smart bomb tech that only the US has.
first off, it's not clear what the explosive device was. Could be a missile, or it could a mine. Mines are very simple to build and deploy, obviously.
Second, note that the Iran backed Houthi rebels hit an airport with a cruise missile earlier this month.
the official current US view is that divers attached magnetic mines to the hulls of the tankers. Which is not new - this has been going on a while. So if this is the case, it doesn't matter if iran has adequate missile tech to do this via projectile, and there is no reason to think that the US did this as a false flag operation because of the tech involved. Virtually any nation can do magnetic mines.
Note that my first reaction is correct so far, and the conspiracy guy is wrong, so far.
Of course, the incidents just happened so all the info is not in yet, and the Trump admin will lie about the time of day if it suits them, so no one should consider this to be factual.
