I've seen multiple variations on the notion that taking steps to ameliorate climate change will wreck the economy. [NB: I do agree that AOC's goals seem unrealistic, however.] This suggests that any change would be more expensive than the status quo.
But climate change is costing us right now--it's not some possible future, but a present reality. We need to take steps against climate change to *save* the economy.
