Lately this thread has devolved into arguing about the wall and what constitutes infanticide, and a few other off-topic things. The Trumpers are of course wrong on all topics. However, the main issue remains that we have a serial lying, criminal, nincompoop in the White House.
Just be clear...
Mueller is coming.
The clown is done.
Flagpole, I’m not old enough to remember Nixon, there are few here who are, but the parallels in presidential behavior are astonishing.
I for one would think AG Sessions quitting/being fired would have been a bigger deal. I would think all of these temporary unconfirmed cabinet appointments would be troubling. It’s a slippery slope.
All we have is Comey’s word. We don’t have what Nixon had, a tape confirming obstruction. Nixon would have remained without that.

There parallels are indeed astonishing. The difference of course being that Nixon was actually a capable President...a hard drinking criminal SOB, but he was no dummy like our Orange President.
Trump has so lowered the bar (along with enablers like McConnell) that firing Sessions is seen as nothing. Having all these temporary cabinet positions is seen as nothing.
Trump is in way bigger trouble than Nixon ever was. The SDNY will be the end of Trump if Trump actually lives long enough, and that would even be it...17 investigations into him still (that we know of), and he still has those two felonies to deal with when he is out of office.
The timing of everything is an issue, so, as I have already admitted, it is possible he will not be removed from office by the end of this first term. We just likely won't have all the info that would make it a slam dunk. I still maintain that the House will vote to impeach him, however.
One risk that Trumpers likely aren't even considering is that Trump is so criminal he very well might still do something in the future that could get him removed. He has a warped sense of how the government works and what the job of the Justice Department is...that combined with his criminal mind is not a good combination for him.
Beyond his serial lying and criminality and incompetence is just his rabid stupidity. His idea to fight the Notre Dame fire with flying tankers just shows how he couldn't think himself out of a wet paper bag. We have a grand fool for a president, and he's right there in the open for all to see.
