For instance, it’s legal to vote for Mexico to build a wall & pay for it; but it’s illegal (and stupid) to make it happen, since for instance we have treaty obligations, etc.

I agree that it is a good idea for them to get his taxes. I believe it should be a law going forward. The House's stated reason was to "consider legislation related to the IRS's practice of auditing sitting presidents." It would be fine if that were a secondary reason, but that's not the primary reason. I want both sides of the aisle to be completely honest, and that is not being COMPLETELY honest.
Oh, and it should not be the law going forward because it already is the law going backward.
The constitution says that congress has the duty of oversight. One of the tools it has the legal authority to use in the purpose is to see the tax returns of anyone it deems necessary.
I think you are misunderstanding me. I KNOW Congress has the right to get his taxes. I know that the law says they can. What is not a law, and to what I was referring, is that presidential candidates do NOT have to furnish their taxes. There is no law that says they do. THAT is what I believe should be a new law.
I am not for the House's stated reason for getting his taxes. Their stated reason, "consider legislation related to the IRS's practice of auditing sitting presidents" is again, a secondary reason. They should just flat out say why they are doing this...that THIS president, not presidents in general, has given us concern so that we need to exercise our oversight responsibilities here and review his taxes. Again, they are not being COMPLETELY honest here.
Democrats are disgusting pieces of trash!!!
Sure, but NY is handing over the state taxes - enough rope to hang him with, metaphorically speaking.
Trump fires Secret Service Director!

I have no doubt he will meet his comeuppance. What I want is for ALL parties to have 100% integrity 100% of the time, and while I KNOW that will never happen, I can still wish for it.
Mueller is coming.
The clown is done.
PURGE! Up & down Homeland Security incl. Secret Service.

State tax returns include a significant part of a Federal Return. This is true for both personal and business tax returns. I know this is a fact because I have been required include Federal returns with my State returns for both personal and business for over 20 years--since I started my own business.

For the sole purpose of putting in people who will break the law on Trump's command. Those being purged refused to break the law to the level Trump is demanding--such as ignoring the law, and Trump's own executive order, to separate family seeking asylum.
Sounds reasonable
remember how obama appointed five 'acting' cabinet level secretaries so he could dodge the senate's constitutionally required approval of his picks?
No?
I don't either. That's a Spankist innovation. Destroying one norm of democracy after the next.
What will be the next one, with 90% Republican support?
Ironically the SS Director was already a hand-picked outsider (first in 100 years!).

I knew someone would post that, begun the exact way you did.
Some things for you:
1) Just because I note that someone posts a lot doesn't mean that I also don't.
2) In totality I have posted more because I have been here longer, but the dude in question has posted WAY more frequently than me in the last few months. WAY more frequently.
