The following follows your logic:
Is COAL energy really a technology that works? I mean in an efficient manner? I ask this as a genuine question. Can it really be cost-effective in its current state? Or will it have to be subsidized?
A: COAL is not a technology that works anymore.
Russia actually specializes in technology that doesn’t work anymore. That’s why they installed Trump! Gives them time to catch up.

You are right in that Sally's question was a bit off. You can't really determine if it is cost efficient by itself. The question is if it is more cost efficient versus other energy sources.
For coal, the time has come and gone. In the US, more and more coal plants are being shut down because coal is far more expensive than natural gas. However, US production has remained steady because of a slight increase in exports. Coal is easier to ship than natural gas. Even so, coal production is expected to slowly decline in the next few years.
So when Tiny said he would bring back coal, surprise, he didn't know what he was talking about.

What the f*ck is his obsession with the deceased John McCain?
It's weird.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPt8odZWnHI#fauxfullscreen
McCain is the Avatar of many things the majority Republican base hates about many Republican politicians. The base feels like their politicians say one thing during the campaign and then sell them out once in office. Trump insults McCain as a stand in for this sense of being sold out to the globalists economic and war agenda. Trump is appealing to this sentiment in his base because he senses growing resentment that he hasn't got more of the wall built.
Politics is an insult contest, and the insults are much more psychologically persuasive if the insult is directed toward a person instead of only a policy. All the people who are criticizing Trump for insulting McCain are just playing the exact same insult game. The charade of dignified and polite discourse has always been a way to trick stupid people into not seeing what's really going on.
good post
More news about Jared and Ivanka violating public records laws. Everyone knows that they are using their positions for monetary gain and trying to cover it up. Cant' wait to lock up these entitled, incompetent brats.
Yeah, putin’s cut them loose; they’ll have to visit Russia for awhile to get out of this. On to brexit for the troll-farmers.

How can anyone say that Donald Trump is not smart? He built a multi-billion-dollar empire from scratch. His properties are all over the world. He was graduated with highest honors from the Wharton School of Business. Everything he touches turns to gold. His debates in 2016 were proof that he is a genius with amazing debate skills. The man is one of the all-time greats!
1) He did NOT build a multi-billion dollar empire from scratch (good that you changed that from "trillion", and yes I know you are a troll.
2) He has rented out his name for most of those properties. He does not own most of them.
3) Apparently just about everything he owns that has any value has been put up as collateral for loans...and then he stiffs the lenders, so much so that no US bank will loan him money and now even the sketchy Deutsche Bank has issues with him.
4) He actually did NOT graduate with the highest honors or ANY academic honors from the Wharton School of Business. UPenn does not release grades, but it DOES publish those who were c*m laude recipients, magna c*m laude recipients, and summa c*m laude recipients. He wasn't any of those. The fact he had Michael Cohen threaten all schools he ever attended and the College Board never to release his grades tells you all you need to know.
5) He has had several bankruptcies and business venture failures. He has turned a fortune that his father left him into a pile of what will amount to next to nothing...squandered it all away.
6) His debating skills were horrible.
7) He is not great at anything other than convincing a bunch of window lickers that he is a smart businessman.
Mueller is coming.

disagree. Trump is one of the greatest salesmen on the planet earth, and also one of the best campaigners.
he has done a masterful job selling himself - that's pretty much the definition of charisma.
especially when you consider what he is selling is harmful to his buyers.
Not really. He sold some VERY dumb white folks in strategic places. He played the electoral college game. Let's not forget that a very very flawed candidate who was getting hammered by Russia, Wikileaks and Comey beat this guy by 3 million votes!! Take a football stadium that holds 100,000 people and fill it up, then line up nine more stadiums with the same amount of people.....then make two more lines of ten stadiums. THAT'S HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE VOTED FOR HILLARY. So he didn't fool everyone.
Not completely wrong.
What's your explanation for how he won the GOP primary so easily and quickly?

Trump is not selling anything. What America should be worried about is those who are trying to overturn the election. He was elected by the people. But for the last 2 years those in the media and other leftist groups have been trying to negate the election. He has those in the FBI and DOJ who are trying to reverse the election and I find it appaliing.
So, you are of the opinion that just because someone is elected that their actions or their DISCOVERED actions can't be the end of them politically? He and his campaign are being investigated to see if any of them illegally worked with the Russians to win the 2016 election, because there were red flags that pointed to the possibility. If that is shown (conspiracy), do you think it shouldn't matter just because he "won" the election?
Nixon was a criminal who committed his crime to win an election. He was on the way to being impeached when he resigned. He was elected by the people. Should he have had to resign or face impeachment?
No one is trying to negate an election. The goal is to bring people to justice if they broke the law...many did and have been brought to justice. Trump's day is coming. It all has to do with HIS behavior, not anyone's idea to overturn the election.
Sally’s a bit jealous that we even have elections, and warm weather, and hard currency, and jobs for girls not lying down.

The GOP candidates were extremely weak.....no backbone. They were scared to attack Trump. Just playing defense won't do it. Then you must add the fact that many RepubliKKKKans were very attracted to Trumps racist messages. He made himself out to be the White Folks candidate. White Supremacists and people who quietly agree with most of their views felt they finally had their "Guy".
it's a big mix obviously. But you are underestimating trump's salesmanship. It's what he does. Everything he does is sales,. The hair, the name, the wives, the daughter, the huge TRUMP he puts on everything. The reason he lies all the time is because he thinks it's ok to lie to make a sale.
He's sold all kinds of stuff over decades. It was not a big shift to move his sales skillz to politics. Remember that he didn't want to win - he considered the campaign to be a giant infomercial for his businesses. Just more sales.
Why do you think Tiffany is never in pictures? Because she isn't good looking. Can't sell a girl who isn't good looking, so she goes out of frame.
what kind of a moran do you have to be, after the HRC shingadingding, to use a private server and unofficial comms for this kind of work?
It's not clear there were any classified docs passed through non secure apps, but still. Morans.
it would be very sweet for this guy, who shouldn't have a security clearance at all and only has one because his dad is potus, to be busted for being sloppy with the info.

"Mueller’s court filings, when coupled with other investigative reporting, paint a picture of how the Russian government through various trusted but deniable intermediaries conducted a series of “approaches” over the course of the spring of 2016 to determine, as Wittes says, whether “this is a guy you can do business with.”
The answer, from everyone in Trumpland—from Michael Cohen in January 2016, from George Papadopoulos in spring 2016, from Donald Trump Jr. in June 2016, from Michael Flynn in December 2016—appears to have been an unequivocal “yes.”
Mueller and various reporting have shown that the lieutenants in Trump’s orbit rebuffed precisely zero of the known Russian overtures. In fact, quite the opposite. Each approach was met with enthusiasm and a request for more. Given every opportunity, most Trump associates—from Manafort and Trump Jr. to Papadopoulos—not only allegedly took every offered meeting and returned every email or phone call, but appeared to take overt action to encourage further contact. Not once did any of them inform the FBI of the contacts."

Business or pleasure, in jail or out.
I agree that he is always ABOUT trying to sell stuff, but I would not say he's good at it. To wit:
Trump Airlines
Trump Bottled Water
Trump The Game
Trump Casinos
Trump Magazine
Trump Mortgage
Trump Steaks
Trump Vodka
Trump's Travel Site GoTrump.com
Trump Telephone Company
Trump University
Not to mention all the failed real estate projects he has had over the years.
So, what DID he win due to salesmanship?
The Art of the Deal sold well.
The Apprentice was a DECENTLY-rated show but not the big hit he always described it as
The Presidency
Regarding making money, let's investigate!:
Art of the Deal -- a book he didn't even write. In 2018 (an up year because he was president), it is reported he made $1 million from royalties from that book). For someone who is supposed to be worth more than $10 billion (according to Trump), that is a pittance. If he were able to monetize just 1% of a $10 billion dollar fortune, that would be $100 million per year. What the hell would he care about a measly $1 million?
The Apprentice -- According to Trump (and since he lies about everything in ways to make himself look good, it is almost for sure less than that), he made $214 million over 14 years with that show. Obviously it made him more of a household name than he already was and stoked his ego, but at about $15 million per year, again, it is next to peanuts for someone who says he's worth more than $10 billion.
The Presidency - $400,000 annual salary that he apparently doesn't keep. Not a money making scheme at all.
Donald Trump is about to turn 73 years old. He likely will not live more than 20 more years. A man who is supposedly worth $10 billion dollars could spend, without earning any interest on any of it, $500 million dollars a year.
So, what is the point of all this?
1) He has more failures than hits.
2) His hits aren't that big moneywise compared to what he says he's worth.
3) He's not as good a salesman as he would like us all to believe. In fact, he's a big loser at it.
What about The Trump Organization? Well, it will eventually be dissolved or at least dismantled as it is currently set up, and since he reportedly has put up anything of value he owns as collateral for bank loans, it is likely it isn't really worth much.
come on FP - he's a great brander. People pay him lots and lots of money for the use of his name. He owns/controls/has his name on many many great pieces of property. He's not nothing. He succeeded at branding real estate and TV. Who cares about his failures.
agip,
I DO agree with you that he was and is a GREAT campaigner. We may never see another one like him. It is nearly impossible to compete in that arena with a guy who has Narcissistic Personality Disorder (or some form of that) who just basks in applause and adulation. He feeds off of this while other normal human beings find it to be work. I was among those impressed with his campaigning. Unfortunately it wasn't due to some great work ethic but rather an illness that propels him toward applause and adulation.
