People on both sides lose their ever loving mind on this issue.
Let’s use some common sense:
1. You shouldn’t be allowed to get an abortion without a valid medical reason or in cases of rape/incest.
2. The decision to abort should be based on a sound medical decision between the mother and doctor no matter when it is during the pregnancy.
If you have 10 kids and get knocked up sorry bout your luck. You live with the consequences of your decision.
If the fetus isn’t viable or endangers your life or is a result of rape or incest then you should have the option to end the pregnancy.
Common sense.

I have to disagree wholeheartedly. If you really want to use common sense as a basis then we should all be for abortions right up until birth with very few restrictions. For one, our legal system doesn’t afford rights to those who are not yet born. It does however in many cases force pregnant women to keep their fetus inside until birth. It’s a bit hypocritical and even strange when you consider that the law doesn’t otherwise prevent anyone from killing (albeit more slowly) their biological material through smoking, alcohol, drugs and dangerous activities. Also, there is no question from an economic point of view that society can always benefit from having one less mouth to feed. Not to mention the whole issue of the human footprint having inflicted so much destruction on the planet, so less people is a good thing.
So I’ll put this out there, if it makes sense for abortions to happen only for a valid medical reason, then why are pregnant women allowed to smoke, drink and do other things that effective are killing their baby? In essence, not having such restrictions is confirmation that it is their right to be pregnant —- but not to end a pregnancy? That is what doesn’t make sense.
Now all that aside, sure I completely understand why my common sense above doesn’t work... religion, human rights and in general emotions all weigh heavily on this issue. I get all that, but still if you want to use common sense then we should all be clearly pro-choice.
