So, you knew all along that Trump was lying about the shutdown lasting for years.
I had no idea how long it would last. I seriously doubted it would go on for very long because MSM continuously covered the "hardships" of those who were not getting paid. People earning big salaries but could not withstand one or two missed paychecks. Pretty sad they did not plan better for contingencies like this.
Big salaries? You know when I was 18-22 I thought 40k a year was a lot of money.... Google is a wonderful fact checker. To be fair border patrol agents may make quite a fair amount of money after some years on the job but this includes a fair amount of overtime it seems.
Salary Expectations for Airport Security Jobs
Unlike most federal agencies that use the general schedule (GS) grading system to determine salary ranges, the TSA uses an SV grading system, a discrete salary system with pay ranges that differ from the GS system. Airport security jobs typically begin at the D pay band, which is $25,518 to $38,277. The promotion potential is the E pay band, which is $29,302 to $44,007.
More on Salary: Border Patrol Agent is a career ladder position with a grade level progression of GL-5, GL-7, GL-9, GS-11, and GS-12. You will be eligible for a promotion to the next higher grade level (without re-applying) once you successfully complete one year in each grade level, with supervisor approval. For example if you started as a BPA in December 2017 you could:
Start as a BPA in December 2017 as a GL-5 and make $52,583 per year
Be promoted in December 2018 to GL-7 and make $62,949 per year
Be promoted in December 2019 to GL-9 and make $70,784 per year
Be promoted in December 2020 to GS-11 and make $83,054 per year
Be promoted in December 2021 to GS-12 and make $97,486 per year
