1) I own my own business, and before that I was a manager at a company that gave employees every federal holiday off. I also worked for a woman once upon a time who owned her own business, and she was a liberal political activist who for sure would allow people to take that day off. There are a LOT of companies out there who give their employees excellent benefits, often in lieu of higher pay. Would EVERY company give employees time off? No. Would "many" as I said? Yep.
2) I am not disagreeing that there are other ways to vote. I'm just saying (correctly) that many companies would allow people to take the day off if it were a National Holiday.
3) "I'd wager more people would take the time off and not vote than would vote." I agree with you there, but that doesn't discount what I said. To be clear, what I said was correct, and what you responded with didn't disprove or even challenge what I said.
4) Proof? What a weird comment. More people than would have know of Martin Luther King Jr. because there is a national holiday named for him. Anything that puts a topic in the minds of people every year without fail makes that topic more prevalent, and it would lead to more people voting. Do I have proof of that? Good grief, brother. It's an opinion...but it's the correct one.
5) I wasn't commenting on the goal of a National holiday, just saying that more voting hurts Republicans. You said you agree with that opinion. Do YOU have proof to agree with that? Again...hearkening back to #4...what a weird comment.
You'll have to bring it stronger if I'm to respond to you again.
