OK, that is fine with me. See unlike you I worship no politicians, most are flawed personalities. At least this leadership generation is largely flawed. They pander to the voters to continue the same self preservation fraud, that is that they are actually doing something positive for the country. Nice thought, though I have seen little evidence lately, and that goes for the Obama Administration as well.
Your problem is that you are SO close to being right, and then you go off the deep end.
Fiscally conservative, socially liberal with some Libertarian in there...all positive stuff, brother. But then in a discussion about how bad Trump is, you have to bring up Obama. There is no equating to be done here, brother. We have never seen anything remotely close to the corruption that is Donald Trump and his White House and campaign. Everything else pales in comparison.
What we are in now is the real life version of the movie Independence Day except not with space aliens but with Trump as the antagonist. We need all hands on deck to rid our country of this serial lying criminal President, and no, no other President is like him in any way. For some reason you have blinders on, and that is what keeps you solidly in the WRONG column. Here's to hoping you do better.
https://999littlebigthings.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/smell-the-coffee.jpgOK. I voted for Obama and found him a tremendous disappointment. Lots of optimism that he would actually represent the change he advocated. But it was all marketing. I had no illusions about Trump. I saw him as a bomb thrower. I saw Clinton more of the same government malaise. Hopefully things will get better. It needs to, but I am not optimistic. Nice to think you or anyone else can change the direction we are headed. Maybe the crisis you invision will do the trick. I doubt it.

Your penultimate sentence, misspelling notwithstanding, shows why you are so wrong. We have a President who has been fingered committing two felonies, has demonstrably lied at a clip that is mind blowing, has hired so many criminals it is hard to keep count, and he attacks any person or organization that might have any power to criticize or control him...the media, the FBI, the DOJ, the courts. He is a criminal of epic proportions, and that will all come out in the end. This is not business as usual.
It is fine for you to feel disillusion with the government, no matter the party. It is not fine that you see no difference between Trump and any other President ever. Like I said, you are SO close to being right. I look forward to the day when you do smell that coffee. Right now you have a cold.
Flagpole,
I would sum up the issues facing this country as more of a societal malaise. Head of America’s largest company and world’s richest man alledgedly stoops to sending dick pics. Musk today’s Henry Ford practices stock manipulation via Twitter and gets a hand slap from the SEC. Amazon runs a quazi monopoly and Musk runs what some call a Ponzi scheme, yet few question the practice. Decades of mideast wars and stationing of the military overseas since WWII while the infrastructure of the country deteriorates. Unfunded liabilities on the state and Federal as far as the eye can see. So much wrong at a fundamental level. Leadership sorely lacking. Political parties exist to stay in power, piting Red and Blue teams against one another in a phony game of good cop-bad cop. Trump and Clinton were just foils at the peak of insanity. Trump the court jester of the dillusioned and Clinton the Boss Tweed of corporate politics. I think we are pretty much getting the crap we deserve.
Igy
Ok brother, you have legitimate concerns. We might even BE getting the crap that we deserve, but the key is for all of us to recognize that Trump is crap beyond all other crap...far beyond. We simply can not allow this level of corruption to exist in the Presidency, and to equate what he has done and continues to do with any other President keeps that recognition at bay.
Flagpole,
The corruption of the Clintons was dangerous and largely ignored because of it being endemic to the system. I remain skeptical that Trump’s alledged corruption was/is more dangerous than that of the Clintons. I suppose in regards to Trump we won’t be in suspense for long.

Well, this is why you remain wrong.
This report from the New York Times detailing how the FBI began an investigation into Trump to determine if he was serving as an agent of Russia is huge. This investigation is still ongoing reportedly.
According to former FBI Assistant Director for Counterintelligence Frank Figluzzi, this kind of investigation would not have started just based on Trump's public behavior, that it normally would have to involve intercepts of either Trump himself talking to Russians or Russians talking about Trump.
I will be interested to see what it means exactly to be serving as an agent of Russia. Sounds bigger than just conspiracy, but right now I do not know. May turn out that Trump is even more anti-American and more criminal than any of us thought.
Mueller is coming.
The clown is done.

An Orange Donkey.
Based on his tweets today, Donald J Trump seems a little unhinged. Can someone in DC go do a welfare check on him? I'm genuinely concerned.
He’s not a crook, he’s a (Russian) businessman!

Well, can't really be any of that, because I didn't declare any of that to be a certainty.
Well...other than Mueller and the SDNY are coming and he IS going to prison. The stuff about the indictments is all a maybe...I say LIKELY, but that's still a maybe.
He IS going to prison though. Just wait and watch.
I can't stand Trump, but I don't want to see an American president in prison. It would make the U.S. look ridiculous.
Going home devastated to Trump Tower would be good enough for me.

I have no problem with him getting lock up for any financial crimes he has committed -- before or during his #45 run. The treasure coffers are not for pilfering by anyone, especially not by a president.

You guys still seem delusional to me. Like the responses to the Kavanaugh thread, hanging on to a narrative to fit your preconceived conclusion. Good luck with that. So far you have nothing to show for your theories. Trump is still President, likely to be the Republican nominee facing a less dynamic Democratic nominee. So the soap opera of American politics will continue for the foreseeable future.
Mommy, mommy, I want my border wa-wa!
