Conservatives have lost their way. No longer can they claim to be the fiscally-responsible party. No longer can they hold up Reagan as the shining light of the Republican Party, because HE encouraged immigration, and he knew it made our country stronger. No longer can they say with a straight face that they aren't actually racist. No longer can they claim to be the Rule of Law Party. They can't even claim to be the most righteous with the extremely sinful Trump as their champion. Trump has destroyed anything good that the conservatives ever had any claim to at all . . .
INCORRECT!
Now, if you had instead used "GOP" in your post rather than "conservatives" you would have been CORRECT!
Nope. Right now as we sit on January 7, 2019, Conservatives in this country are still synonymous with the GOP. If traditional conservatives wish to be rid of the doom that Trump has bestowed upon them and the GOP, then they need to rise up and rid themselves of this pestilence. Doesn't help too much that outgoing senators like Flake and Corker stood up to him. Doesn't matter too much that Romney (who needs no job) has taken at least a partial stand against him. Until the majority of Republican House and Senate members stand up and say "enough!" to the Orange One, the GOP and conservatives are one in the same, because Trump says he is a conservative (he's not) and the GOP goes along with it.
Simply can't follow Trump and be a conservative. No way. No how.
