I'm getting worried that my party's top three candidates right now are 3 old white men. Same ole story.
I know it's early, but the last thing we need is more old white guys as POTUS.

Meanwhile, Trump is throwing a party at Mar-a Lago. The secret service is working without pay. But, the government is footing much of the bill for the party. The secret service is forced to pay vendors to cater the party. Security things like party tents, tables, golf carts, and food because it has to be 'tested'. Oh, and Trump Hotel rooms for many of unpaid secret service.

How typical. Trumpers whine about someone taking a paid holiday. And deadly silence when Trump throws a party that taxpayers are forced to pay for. What a pig, Trump.

Great point, but as you can see, flagpole isn't posting until he's ready with his excuses.
Pelosi is as much of a crook as Hillary Clinton is, but flagpole voted for her (unwise).
1) I never make excuses for anything.
2) I have no allegiance to Hillary Clinton or Pelosi.
3) There is currently one President of the United States, and he happens to be a serial liar and a criminal. He is causing mass harm to our nation, and all citizens should be behind that.
Mueller is coming.

I am a lifelong Democrat who has no use for the Clintons, but their shortcomings are little league compared with the criminality of Trump and Kushner. Clinton was a lame neoliberal President who kowtowed to goons like Kissinger and trickle-down economists. He sold out the progressive wing who helped propel him to office, and he lacked good judgement in personal matters. Hillary Clinton, while somewhat independent of Bill, is basically a carbon copy in terms of political philosophy. They did a lot of damage to the Democratic Party by turning their backs on working people. But the corruption, venality, and treachery of Trump and Kushner is--and you know this--many levels lower in the sequel to the Inferno that Dante is working on from beyond the grave. The Clintons will be a footnote in history. Trump and Kushner will go down as two of the great villains of of all time.

Exactly right!
Deflection from "Clinton's party" to begin with, but of COURSE Trump's crimes are so much worse than anything Hillary ever did.
And, what if Hillary did things that were ten times worse than Trump? Are we supposed to bring up those crimes all the time when talking of Trump? If so, why? Nothing she has ever done has anything to do with what Trump has done. Are we supposed to forgive crimes Trump has committed if someone else somewhere also once upon a time committed crimes? Ridiculous!
Our CURRENT President Donald Trump is a serial liar, a cheat, a traitor, and a criminal of epic proportions. He is not comparable to any President we have ever had or any person who has ever won a major party nomination for President. He is without question the worst President we have ever had BY FAR.
I'll say Hillary Clinton isn't even Little League compared to Trump. She is T-Ball. Hillary is not a criminal. Donald Trump is, and he is rightfully in some very big trouble. Anyone who supports him or deflects for him at this point is a complete idiot, OR I suppose a racist A$$hole. You CAN be an idiot though without being racist, but you can't be racist without being an idiot.
Mueller is coming.
The clown is done.
A couple things
At this point if Trump gets any WALL funding it will show that a president can hold Congress hostage. If this happens both sides will take note and we will see this again with other presidents as the executive branch becomes more authoritarian.
Obama didn’t need to be black to get the black vote. I would argue more people voted against him because he was black than for him. You need to visit the Deep South and the hollers of Kentucky my friend. Every party leverages what they need to get votes. The dems just saw the tea leaves many years ago in regards to the non white vote.
Old white people vote at a higher % than other demographics. Until this changes, it won’t, we will continue to see old white people holding the highest political office.
Beto isn’t Mexican but he looks too Mexican for many and Harris and Booker are too black for many. Starting off with disqualifiers for some voters you’re starting your election uphill.

Day Eight of the Trump Shutdown . . . hang in there, everybody!

Trump is a terrible negotiator.
He's demanding$5B in taxpayer money for the wall but has thrown out $2.5B.
That's not going to get it done. And it doesn't even mean that it will get started.
He just wants to say that he made progress on getting a wall (paid for by Americans).
This is such a stupid thing.
And in negotiating you give something to get something.
The prize for giving in to Trump? A fully open government with people being paid for the jobs they were hired to do.
And he publicly said he would be proud to shut it down.
The Republican Congress already handed him a funding bill but he refused to sign it. It's all on him.

Thanks for the objective & informative link, Gary. Are you for the Northern border wall too then? I would assume so based on that link. Do you think Canada will pay for it?
Also, if Mexico is paying for the Southern Wall—why is the government shutdown again? Also, if the shutdown is the Dems fault—how is that the case when a bipartisan short term funding bill passed the House and Senate (both controlled by the GOP BTW) last week but the president (who I am pretty sure is a republican) wouldn’t sign it?

Correct sequence of events above. Shutdown = caused by Trump and the GOP.
Good morning! How are all you LRC stable geniuses doing this fine am?
There is so much going on in DC right now with the shutdown, the Mueller investigation, and all the chaos and disarray with the White House staff...I wonder what the top story is this AM over on foxnews.com....
Oh yeah, that makes total sense since conservatives favor emotion (fear & hate) over logic / critical thinking.
LOOK! SQUIRREL!!!
After Trump lied that people in the military were getting better than a 10% raise, he decreed via an executive order that he is freezing federal workers' pay in 2019. That erases a 2.1% raise that was set to go in place in January. Trump's claim is that the pay increase was "inappropriate: "We must maintain efforts to put our Nation on a fiscally sustainable course, and Federal agency budgets cannot sustain such increases," cried Trump.
So much winning.

Yes, for some reason people seem to have internalized $5 billion as the price of The Wall. The Wall will cost *several* multiples of that--$5 billion would just be the first installment. Not to mention the billions in annual upkeep.
And yes, this is the Trump Shutdown. You can't even blame the (still Republican) Congress for this one--it's all on DJT.
