I agree that this latest Cohen revelation by itself doesn't spell legal problems for Trump. The ethical ones are there in spades though. Trump lies publicly about dealings in Russia. Russia knows that Trump lied. This is leverage that they have over him...likely not the only leverage either. This is kompromat. This is what Flynn had to be fired over.
This is part of the puzzle that shows a President who is forming US policy based on what he wants to enrich himself, either right now or after he is done in office. He knows it is wrong, so we have the coverup (and perhaps covering up even more). The coverup is Obstruction of Justice, and there are many instances of this that we know of already and probably ones we don't.
All of this just fuels the legitimacy of the investigations the Democrats will engage in when they take the House over in January.
The Trump Organization will be ultimately officially declared a criminal enterprise (this could take YEARS to do this). Don Jr., Ivanka, and perhaps Eric will spend some time in prison, unless they are pardoned by Trump or Pence or whomever is President next.
Trump will be "charged" with (could just be politically as in impeachment process only or could be legal as in after he is out of office, or both):
Obstruction of Justice
Perjury (added this one now that he has responded to Mueller -- just don't believe everything he and his lawyers answered there will all be verified truthful...and it won't be about the weather as Trump said (good freakin' grief). For perjury it has to be something material.
Money Laundering
Bank fraud or conspiracy to commit
Wire fraud or conspiracy to commit
FELONY Campaign Finance violation (already an unindicted co-conspirator)
Conspiracy with Russia against the United States of America
Logan Act violation (if they are even interested)
Emoluments Clause violation (if they are even interested)
Some sort of hacking law violation or conspiracy to commit
Some sort of RICO thing if not already covered in another charge
Wiretap Act violation
Uniform Trade Secrets Act violation
Conspiracy to commit trespass to chattels
Some sort of computer crimes act violation
Likely some other things too
It will also be shown that he was compromised with regard to Russia at a minimum and perhaps other countries.
We will likely continue to discover how criminal he and his family are long after he is out of office.
As we sit here today, I still don't think he will spend any time in prison, but he SHOULD, and if he were anyone BUT the President of the United States, he WOULD. As I have said several times now, if I am wrong about anything, THIS is what I will be wrong about as there is a chance that he WILL spend time in jail.
Mueller is coming.
The clown is done.
