Oh brother, here we go again! DemonRats claiming “victory” after losing the special election in Ohio. The 2018 coulda, woulda, shoulda award, thus, goes to O’Connor and the Dems.
Just an FYI libs—a loss is a loss. Spin away but you didn’t win and the closeness of the election is not a harbinger of anything.
I agree with your sentiment. This close loss is somehow a major headline victory.
But that's for the political junkies.
That will be a three month term and they will vote again in November which should have a larger turnout.
Will that larger turnout flip yesterday's decision? We'll see.
Trump's endorsement here did two things:
- It got more of his base to come out , which may have put the Republican barely ahead.
- It got more anti-Trump people to vote , which may have made the election closer than it should have been.
We really don't know if Trump's endorsement was and will be a net positive or negative.
But a solid Republican district should not be that close.
What will happen with swing districts?
