I have never said the Democrats have all the answers. The economy IS great (was when Obama left office and is continuing the trend). ISIS IS depleted (was when Obama left office and is continuing the trend).
The skyrocketing debt under Trump will be an issue. Obama had a financial crisis to deal with, so borrowing early on in his presidency was a necessity. The tax cuts Trump pushed (which weren't the biggest ever by the way like he said) weren't necessary. I actually agreed with the temporary tax cut Bush Jr. pushed through early in his presidency, because we were in a tough time economically (not as tough as later on for him though). But this time, the cuts weren't needed, and a rapidly rising debt is the result.
Trump is crowing about the GPD, but for some perspective, Obama had 5 quarters that met or surpassed this one for Trump.
All that said, I agree with you that Democrats don't have a huge platform just yet, and they need to find something to run on other than get rid of the criminal Trump (though honestly, that SHOULD be enough). I don't think Trump will be there on election day 2020, but even so, they have to run against someone.
One final thing...I am NOT dead set against traditional Republican ideals, especially the fiscal ones that they SAY they align with. I am against Trump not because he is a Republican but because he is a serial liar, a huge criminal and an awful person. If he ran and won as a Democrat and behaved this way, I would be just as against him.
Mueller is coming.
The clown is done.
