How many decades have you listened to Rush Limbaugh do nothing but slander liberals, Gary? Newt Gingrich's "language matters" memo instructing Republicans to apply words like "anti-family", "pathetic", "sick", and "traitors" to the Democrats went out in 1996. There is an entire industry of Republican talking heads who've made careers out of insulting liberals. I've provided just a few examples. Note the dates.
"Treason: Liberal Treachery from the Cold War to the War on Terrorism", Ann Coulter, 2003
"Liberalism is a Mental Disorder", Michael Savage, 2005
"Unhinged: Exposing Liberals Gone Wild", Michelle Malkin, 2005
"Deliver Us from Evil: Defeating Terrorism, Despotism, and Liberalism", Sean Hannity, 2004
"The Enemy at Home: The Cultural Left and Its Responsibility for 9/11", Dinesh D'Souza, 2007
The Republican party done nothing but promote hatred towards liberals my entire adult life.
If you don't want to Republicans to be associated with White Supremacists or Trump to be called a dictator, you should make an effort to at least pretend to be upset when elected Republicans like Steve King retweet Nazi Sympathizers or when Trump backs a neoconfederate candidate who has called a white supremacist his hero. You shouldn't be content when Trump publicly expresses a desire to be treated like Kim Jon Un (claiming "sarcasm" after the fact does not make this okay) or when he calls his political opposition enemies of America. You shouldn't be borderline gleeful at the prospect of separating brown kids from their parents and putting them in a tent prison in the Texas desert. (Trump is currently peddling the obvious lie that the zero tolerance child separation policy he and Sessions have implemented is "the Democrats' law." What law is he talking about specifically? His cult supporters don't care! Trump said it, so it's a fact!)
It's very obvious to me that Trump's supporters will accept violent suppression of his political opponents in order to keep him in power. Gary himself has tacitly suggested violence might be a necessary solution. (e.g. he calls liberals genocidal, he's claimed we need to split the country up because of how terrible liberals are, he believes there is an actual coup attempt being perpetrated by the imaginary Liberal Derp State and he says this is a battle Trump and his supporters MUST win.) If any evidence against Trump or effort to remove him is unquestionably illegitimate, then it follows that anything goes when it comes to tamping down on it.
