Oh man this is bad.
He is bad for sure--a charlatan and a con artist. But I am unsure where the optimism comes from that we are going to get any justice here. First off, while we focus on investigation the kleptocrats are dismantling the federal government on behalf of the private sector. That damage will not be reversed easily. And what makes you think anyone prominent will face charges here? I can recall like yesterday the moment Ed Meese wobbled out to admit the first details of the Iran-Contra affair. That day in 1987 it was easy to imagine impeachment against Reagan and his staff for something that made Watergate look minor. Nothing serious came of it and today even liberals like Clinton and Chuck Schumer seem to think Reagan was a great man (give me a vomit bag). We have never prosecuted major political and financial crime in this country. Henry Kissinger got a fcking Noble Peace Prize for scuttling Johnson's 1968 peace talks. It will be a generation before middle class folks are uncomfortable enough to really demand justice for such matters. Mueller is a good man doing a good job, but it's essentially a burlesque, just as the idea that Nixon would ever go to jail was a burlesque.
