I mostly agree but see the bolded part. Yes, people will deny. They're doing that now. Perhaps ultimately I'm putting too much faith in the American people. What are the chances in 5-10 years the average American doesn't even remember who Donald Trump was?

Actually millions of Americans refrain from illegal activities every day.
Excellent point, never doubt Americans' ability to forget quickly. Gary thinks everyone who voted for Trump did so because they really liked him and thought he was going to drain the swamp. In all likelihood, at least 50% of those who voted for him only did so because he was GOP nominee, period. So those folks will probably not care too much and saw it coming. Gary believes half the country thinks like him, not likely. The bolded part was important to note from a legal standpoint. I ultimately accept the 2000 Bush win because there was a legal process, even if not perfect. This is how the Trump impeachment will be viewed.
1) Trump is the problem, and he needs to go.
2) The people who voted for him are NOT a problem. They were fooled, and people who are fooled are victims, and victims aren't a problem.
3) I said this before the election, but Democrats HAVE abandoned the working class, and either Democrats OR Republicans need to have a REAL champion for those working class people, not a liar like Trump. Bernie Sanders, for all of his talk about being against big business and stumping for the little guy, makes a BIG mistake when trying to get free college for everyone. This leaves out the working class, because not everyone is college material, and in fact most are not. It would behoove us as a society to give respect to people who do not go to college and to the jobs they do.
4) So, I will not be seeing uneducated angry white men sooner than I think. I see them now, and I know why they are mad. They have a right to be, but Trump was not their savior. When old industries (coal, milk men, etc.) go the way of the Dodo, we need to do all we can to encourage new industries to hire those that came from those dead industries.
"the President "shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment".
This is why Nixon chose to resign instead of facing the inevitable impeachment so that Ford could pardon him.
I wonder if Trump is rational enough to make that calculation.

Trump is rationale enough to pardon himself of all crimes; past, present and future. Then he will quit and expand his illegal activities. Then he will find out how much power to pardon himself he actually had; zero.

No. Gary thinks most people voted for Trump because both political parties ignored them.
Trump is essentially a third-party guy, and now we know what happens when a third-party outsider gets into DC. Both parties and the entire bureaucracy in DC conspire to throw him out of power.
Addicts are victims too but you know what? They hurt people around them as well. The Democratic party needs to do a lot of things. My point is that it's going to be increasingly difficult to reach those working class people if Trump is thrown out of office. Whether he deserves it or not, in this hypothetical situation, is useless. These people loved him and actually thought he was going to "drain the swap." If he get's tossed out, do you really think they'll say "well the legal process here really seems to have uncovered a lot of evidence against the president and after a thorough review and proper litigation, it seems that the sitting president is in fact guilty of crimes" or will they shout "corrupt politicians in DC were out to get him!!!!!!!"
Or he is so incompetent he has troubling finding competent (non-criminals) to fill his administration and stumbles like a drunk through his presidency. Every time I read one of your post I hope that you are a troll but I have accepted there are indeed people as ignorant as you in this country and unfortunately they get to vote.

The first step in empathizing with disenfranchised people is to stop insulting them, stop dehumanizing them. Am I the only one who's noticed that the only group of people ever accused of being "uneducated, angry, and racist" are struggling white men? Any other group who is struggling in society is portrayed as some kind of victim who deserves our sympathy and all the help we can muster, and they get it.
You're getting there. When you can finally see white men as human beings like everyone else and stop insulting them as uneducated racists, then the country will start heading in the right direction.
Let's see if this kind of talk makes into the MSM. I'm not optimistic.

If Trump behaved more ethically, and had a coherent platform, I think the situation would be significantly different. I do agree however that both major political parties are more concerned with keeping themselves in power than with actually governing, and that's not a recent development.

A liberal media rat maze dweller attempts to communicate with the real world, with predictably embarrassing results.
At least 65 million Americans voted the other way and are getting hosed over right now by a Russian puppet. Basically, your president and the corrupt Republican administration deserve to face the full brunt of your blatant crimes and if you can't accept that you are going to be rightfully punished then too bad.
Also, many of the 62 million who voted for this idiot now regret doing so.

Just a few minutes ago you whined about liberals insulting the forgotten white men of 'America. And here you are revealing your true self.
Gary wants to return to the time when America was great. It was OK to lynch blacks and be a white nationalist that sympathized with the Nazis that gassed and burned the Jews. He thinks that is a small price to pay for white supremacy.

But would probably do the same if the election were held again today.

Nope. A large number would not vote at all. Trump would be lucky to get 40 million votes if the election was held today.

Gary,
the ironic, hypocritical nonsense that spews forth from your mind just NEVER ends, does it?
To wit-
"The first step in empathizing with disenfranchised people is to stop insulting them, stop dehumanizing them" .
ARE YOU F_CKING KIDDING ME??? Lemme guess, this is the strategy you righties have been using all these years to win the black and hispanic vote, huh? Lol! Your side has, for aeons (really centuries), been "dehumanizing" minorities (especially blacks). Your side (and yes, own your side, clown) has literally called them baboons and animals, **right up until the current day!** Hell, elected right wing officials have called the Obamas "Baboons" and "gorillas" on social media! Behind the scenes, anonymous right wing trolls routinely refer to blacks as monkeys, apes, etc. Yes, literally DE-HUMANIZING them. And insulting them, that's par for the course. Any time a black person does something slightly wrong, or is just accused of something wrong, they are a "THUG" and "criminal". You 100% know this is true, and if don't admit it, you are a out of your mind.
Next-
"Am I the only one who's noticed that the only group of people ever accused of being "uneducated, angry, and racist" are struggling white men? Any other group who is struggling in society is portrayed as some kind of victim who deserves our sympathy and all the help we can muster, and they get it."
Again, more insane nonsense. To answer your question, no, you are not the "only one to notice[i.e., IMAGINE] (this)", because nearly every right winger on your side believes this idiotic nonsense.
You don't think blacks have been portrayed as "uneducated and angry" (and, yes, racist) by tons, and the large majority of right wingers, in our society?? You are a 100% jacka$$ for suggesting this is not so. They do it every.....damn....day.
Liberals have been portraying POOR PEOPLE (white or black) as often "victims" of a society that favors the rich and powerful, for decades and decades. (but yes, think that blacks have had it particularly hard, and % wise make up a lot of the poor population) . Republicans have portrayed the poor as lazy, unmotivated, and losers, but especially use these labels for poor blacks. Liberals have tried to do much to "help" the poor via gov't programs, while right wingers want to cut services for the poor while simultaneously cutting taxes on the rich, and now only pay lip-service to their "sympathy for poor white men " (but of of course only white men).
And then of course your final bizarro reality world nonsense -
"When you can finally see white men as human beings like everyone else and stop insulting them as uneducated racists, then the country will start heading in the right direction."
Yes, it's nice to see that right wingers like you Gary are finally being sold on the idea of treating "disenfranchised" , abused peoples down on their luck as "human beings" deserving of sympathy and not spite. But of course you only think that it is WHITE MEN who suffer the fate of being looked down on as inhuman and not worthy of sympathy by large swatch of our society, which is beyond delusional.
Your "white male victimhood" knows no bounds, and your self-awareness of how YOUR SIDE in particular (and people from all political persuasions) has treated, looked down, de-humanized, insulted, abused blacks and other minorities is apparently nil.
Trump is the perfect president for you- no knowledge, no self awareness, full Orwellian twisting of reality, no respect for the truth, full of BS.
