Speaking of yesterday's PA election:
From Tom Nichols, a conservative: "Democrats, I am pleading with you: take the right message from your PA 18 win. (HINT: Run center-left candidates who speak respectfully to a wide group of voters, who are not purity-tested out of a primary, and have a platform besides TRUMP IS TOTALLY HITLER.)"
I wish both parties would take this to heart.
It would be nice to see more bipartisanship, and I know you are quoting Nichols there, but there are a couple things here:
1) Lamb didn't win in that very conservative district because he spoke respectfully to a wide group of voters. He won because this is a response both by voters to not turn out for Republicans and to turn out for Democrats. This happens typically with midterm elections, but this is happening now with these special elections just a year in to the Orange One's presidency because he is a mess and his White House is a mess, and people think it is crazy that so many Republicans continue to support him.
2) Trump is not Hitler, but he is a Hitler wannabe. He attacks our free press, our legislative branch, our intelligence agencies, any one who disagrees with him in even the slightest way. He says we should try President for life some day. The world leaders he admires are all dictators (and all men). He makes comments about taking guns away without due process. If the system were set up to allow it, he absolutely would become a dictator in this country, engaging in all things dictators around the world do.
Kind of rich for a conservative to tell Democrats to speak respectfully to others. Trump is the most disrespectful person I have ever heard of, and they laugh and orgasm at his every vile word.
