In formal logic, this is what is referred to as an absurdity. It's like asking, "Can God make a square that is round?" By definition, a square can not be round. A thing can not stop being what it is.
By the same token, God can not stop being God. The question of the stone is asking you to accept that God might stop being God. It is therefore an absurd question. It's more a trick of language than a real question to be answered.
