Bull$hit. You know it, everyone else knows it. You voted to stick it to people, no matter what you say now.
If you really cared about qualifications, one need only look at the Bush vs. Gore election to see what the consequences of electing unqualified idiots are. There was basically zero chance we'd go to war in Iraq, for example, under a Gore presidency. Thousands of Americans were killed, tens of thousands more maimed, hundreds of thousands to perhaps a million Iraqis killed, dead, displaced. Because people thought Gore was boring or they wanted to stick it to the Democrats, or they hated Gore's global warming work.
When Trump fails miserably at something -- and goo people -- Americans -- die, it's on you, pal. He's not qualified and he never will be. And he doesn't even seem to care.

There's a new president in a couple of hours, and he's totally unprepared. Only 2 of 15 cabinet positions approved. Only 29 of 660 executive department appointments named. 50 Obama staff staying on to fill gaps.
For a man who talked about how dumb Obama administration was, how easy it would be to put things right, and who people voted for based on their idea of his business experience, its already a shambles. Any why? because he doesn't have the intellect, interest or focus to either do the job or to deliver an administration that's ready to go.
I beg to differ...........he's quite a bit further along in the process than Obama was at this stage. Also, relative to the policy debate, he clearly won them with the voters that matter, IE the people that actual work for a living and aren't on welfare, and aren't spoiled, coddled trust fund snowflakes or Hollywood idiots with more money than brains. -
Not my president.

Say what you will about the merits of the war in Iraq, which are certainly debatable. However the good ol US of A would be a far different place under Gore, and not for the better. Talk about a liberal on steroids. But at least massage parlors with happy endings would likely be legal. Also didn't he and the tipper try and censor the music industry??? -

Good, I'm happy for ya. Obama wasn't mine, and I daresay I didn't act out like a petulant child throwing a tantrum during his inauguration (nor did anyone else) while he did his best over the last 8 years to make this place a third world nation, and foster disrespect for the military, the police and the rule of law. -
jamin has had a massive erection since yesterday in anticipation of the inauguration, he won't leave me alone
-
In all seriousness, I hope that the inauguration goes off without a hitch and that there will be no violence of any kind.
I didn't vote for him, but DJT is going to be the President, period--I wish him a tremendously successful tenure (because that will be good for all of us), and I fervently hope that he serves his entire term (because the alternative is frightening). -

Trump's position on gun ownership is no different to any other republican presidents position - except he just added in his support as an afterthought.
My opinion: won't actually pursue any changes to the existing situation. All talk. -

He may or may not change the status quo on firearm ownership and existing laws, that remains to be seen. The best thing he could do is ensure that people that commit crimes using firearms don't have the ability to plea bargain the charges down. However what he will most likely do is nominate a Supreme Court justice (or two, depending on what happens) that will be a supported of the Second Amendment. -
OOPS supporter.

Yea, this hits the nail on the head. Look at what a lot of other business owners are saying. He's good at marketing, branding, licensing, and slapping his name on things, but not adept at the operations part of running a business. Neither is Pence, he's just a classic vapid politician. It already shows. It will continue to show. Either people will pick up on it or just continue to be deluded by his thinly veiled words. -
I'm actually heartened by some of Trump's appointees, though. Some of them are qualified, good people. Others, like Betsy DeVos...well, maybe not so much.
Anyway, I live in Indiana, and I've see how bad Mike Pence is at doing anything other than looking good in a suit. So, despite my replies to Fonz above, I am rooting for Trump to be a success. A Pence presidency is far scarier. -

I live in Indiana, too, but I beg to differ about a Pence presidency. He is a beta male that mostly follows party orthodoxy, and when pressured, he will cave on certain issues. He is not very bold and generally does what he has to do in order to be liked by his base. He would not get re-elected if he was president.
Trump is an alpha dog that will go off on tangents, double down when challenged, and nobody knows what he will do. Threaten war with North Korea over Twitter? Who knows. He doesn't even know.
Congress scares me the most. I've never seen such factless, ideological policy making in my life. And now they got a man that has a very very light grip on the entire idea of facts to sign off on everything. Yippie. -
In 1460 days Hillary Rodham Clinton will become President of the United States.

Yes Hillary was a terrible campaigner who never won an election on her own except in New York State(heavily democratic). However, Trump is still does not have the right stuff, only the wrong stuff.
Hillary wasn't just a terrible campaigner... she has sucked at every job she's ever held. Never won a fairly-contested primary. Nita Lowey, who would have easily been elected Senator in NY in 2000, got stepped on by the DNC and was forced to scrap her candidacy. Adding insult to injury, the Clinton's are now positioning Chelsea to move into the House seat held by Lowey (who hates their guts, BTW) when she retires.
What we are experiencing is an ongoing domino effect of unintended consequences. Bill Clinton gets elected in '92 because Ross Perot runs a strong 3rd-party campaign - Clinton maybe gets 10 electoral votes if Perot doesn't run. Eight years later, we end up with GWB as President because Clinton didn't have the class and good sense to resign after he got caught perjuring himself. No way Gore loses that election as an incumbent. GWB was such a bungler, any idiot on the other side of the ticket would have won in 2008... and "any idiot" was pretty much who we ended up with. So with the rising gorge of the electorate after a quarter-century of seeing the Disgraceful, the Incompetent, and the Idiotic Narcissist occupying the highest office of the land, our choices came down to a blow-hard Reality-TV loudmouth vs a pathologically dishonest failure whom, by all rights, should have just as much political relevance today as Kitty Dukakis. Heck of a menu.
"The right stuff"??? Hahahaha... where the hell have you been? -

Pence surrounds himself with like-minded idiots and imagines everyone feels the same way about things that he does. He lives in an echo chamber. That's how we get the Pravda on the Plains proposal and RFRA. Plus, his religion dictates his political policies. Completely unacceptable.
Trump, at least, seems to be willing to listen to differing opinions. He's also unlikely to spend his time on divisive social issues.
Can't believe I'm defending Trump, but I really do think he's better than Pence. -

Sorry, I must have missed all the gun-grabbing that happened during the last eight years of a Democrat president. When did that happen?
You haven't been paying attention.
It matters not, national right to conceal carry is coming, Suppressors will be removed from NFA Regs making them readily available to all it is coming, the Hugh's act will be repealed, citizens will be able to defend their families and property how they see fit and in the same manner as the anti gun politicians surrounded by men with guns do....ironically

Serious question...
If you are attending the inauguration in DC (like just a random person in the crowd), can you bring your gun? Like I know the Republicans are all about some gun rights, but would it get taken away given what you are attending and the fear you might try something? -
