I'd think Wardian would be able to average about 2:40 or so for this sort of thing.
Of course the travel would be pretty intense, so maybe that would slow him down.
189 mile week at 6 minute pace? No chance.

Washington Post radio advert mentioned doing a piece this weekend on someone doing this race. Obviously thought it was Wardian, still may be, but could be this lady also.

Probably based upon this article:

I would think he could. His recovery/recuperation is incredible. Although I don't know about this particular challenge. Haven't looked at the courses. Seems like Antartica would be tough to run a fast time.
If it was one marathon for all the marbles, the edge goes to Hall. However, Wardian is fast and can handle the abuse of travel and consistent marathoning. I think he's got the edge on travel since he's traveled for tons of marathons in the past (didn't he do 14 countries of races in 2016?) Cumulative marathon time - Mike beats Ryan by over an hour.
Hall will destroy Wardian. Ryan has a much larger following.
THIS IS A FUNDRAISER NOT A RACE.
That means the only measure is who raises the most amount of money. This has nothing to do with who crosses the finish line first.
I believe that Ryan Hall will raise more money than Michael Wardian and therefore be the winner.
Wardian ran 2:21 at the '12 trials and then ran 2:31 at the Houston marathon the next day. He is in his early 40s, which means that he would not recover as quickly as he used to. Ryan Hall is about 8 years younger.
I think Wardian would have a big advantage because he is a very seasoned ultra runner and does not have the low T issues.
Wardian also has an epic beard, which is important for ultrarunners.
agreed
Wardian won the first leg, in Antartica, in 2:54. Hall in 4th in 3:26.
How'd Vabrousek, the tri-guy mentioned in WasPost article, do? 3:31+ won last year, and that was the guy who set the previous record.
Wardian is a clown. Not any better than Dean K. What's the deal with ultrarunners doing stunts like this. Besides, Wardian got beat my Anton Krupicka at the Miwok 100k. Wardian isn't that fast either. What important 100 miler has he won?

He finished second in 3:05
Has it ever been said that the two are racing? I don't think Hall knows he is racing Wardian. Clearly Wardian is in better shape and should do better at this. Hall seems to be doing it for fun, charity, and the Glory of the Almighty Father in Heaven Above.
2:54 for Mike in 20 below freezing. That's an antarctic record.
I'm gonna predict that he averages 2:44 for the next 6, meaning his average will end up around 2:46 roughly.
Ryan will run them all at over 3hrs and will average 3:09
I'm still mixed on a final time prediction. That is a strong first leg. Seems like that would be the hardest conditions but I haven't looked at the other courses.
The cumulative fatigue from running shouldn't affext Wardian too much, but the travel fatigue might.

He made it clear on facebook that he's just shooting for 3:30's.

Don't know about 100 milers, but he won JFK which is a much more competitive race the Miwok. He was a U.S. 100k champ and won some 50k champs. And Anton never qualified for the trials - nor Dean K either.
Wardian has performed a lot better on roads than on trails anyway. 2:17 is not that shabby with his absurd racing schedule.

That's no clown!!
I don't totally get the negativity.
Wardian is a machine. The dude is over 40 and still cranking out frequent fast marathons. No, not world class, but running 2:20-2:35, especially with his frequency, is extremely impressive. It's not like he is running 3hrs claiming to be elite.
And Hall, the American Record Holder, is doing this crazy event. Sure he has sponsors covering the excessive costs. But he is still running 7 marathons in 7 days. Retired football players become mediocre commentators.
I bet Wardian, Hall and everyone else on the trip are having a blast together.
