The weight training prisoners do is not likely very effective. "But they're huge!" That is only because the lifestyle of violent criminals favors genetically muscular specimens.

Close, but not quite. I think it's the prison environment that pretty much causes a greater release of testosterone by it's nature, combined with weight training, makes them muscle specimens.
It's sort of like the transformation you see in kids who go into Marine Corps boot camp looking soft yet getting more muscle than you'd expect from a normal 13-week training program.
It's the environment. Plus you can't fap as much so that alone will keep your testosterone from diminishing as much.

True. Doing countless curls won't do much. You would have a much better chance of withstanding unwanted advances building up your legs.

That is contrary to the studies I have seen. My understanding has been that frequent maturation (or or orgasm more specifically) causes slightly lowered testosterone and that there is a "sweet spot" frequency that maximizes testosterone.
You better not be a real dr because you are a dumb mfer. High reps actually will build mass better than high weight. Prisons build muscle so fast because those guys are working every muscle every day. Outside world thinks you shouldn't do that for the most part and they see limited results. If you look at the training templates of guys like Arnold then you'll see he either did total body or body split training. Most of the outside world hits each body part once a week and that doesn't get the job done. Also most of the outside world does virtually no cardio so they have flat muscles even when they are strong.
Train hard then do what all day, lay around ..basically resting until your next workout.
