Yes, because the exploitation and torture of animals is so essential to our MOJO.

This article is depressing. The circus is closing as kids don't have the attention span to sit still to watch a show without elephants (animal rights people).
It must be convenient to paint the world into such broad, divisive categories. Can you appreciate that it's not just rabid "animal rights people" who'd prefer to not support a show that treats elephants that way? And I'm not even alluding to the long history of abuse and cruelty that has happened in circuses. I'm simply referring to the fact that compassionate people would prefer that highly intelligent, highly social creatures be treated in a different way.
The circus refused to adapt to changing attitudes about animal welfare, so we chose to spend our money elsewhere. It's very simple free market capitalism, and there are no scapegoats for B&B's failing other than their own sorry business management.
They can go to a zoo to learn about animals, and play video games or watch a movie for REAL entertainment.
Who needs the circus when you can flip on your TV and watch one for free led by an Orange Troll as it unfolds in the nation's capital. #MAGA, #MAWA.
The circus is basically bunch of adults wearing kids clothes and makeup, dancing like nancies around some abused elephant while chimpanzees ride bicycles.
That may have been exciting 150 years ago when the only other thing you had for entertainment was reading a book or making a doll out of potatos. Times have changed. Get over yourself.

+1
People are so naive to look past how horrible the background is. People act tough, bet they can't watch a full behind the scenes video. Big alpha male's out here apparently.

I can't tell if you're joking or not. You believe kids spend their time going to the circus? It's an archaic form of entertainment at this point.
And I'm so confused, what's bad about elephants not being exploited for our entertainment? You're joking, right?
can't believe the response here !!!!
so negative , !!!!!
maybe it wasn't to the hype of some of the mega shows but it is classic !!!
they have entertained for 146 years and millions of people ,
and all you can do is bash them !!!!
why don't you go out and do the stuff these performers can do ......
they are amazing !!!
keep your negativity bottled up and see the sadness that there are millions of people who will be sad to see a timeless tradition of great entertainment pass away !!!!!
if you cant say something positive , then shut up !!!!!
thanks for the link ro-jo
so sad to see it go !!!!!
Negativity towards a negative point of view - Rojo's - is actually a positive.

No, he's posting click bait - as always.
Don't worry Rojo, I'm sure you can find other ways to support the egregious mistreatment of animals. In fact Thailand is well-known for the torture of elephants and tigers.
Ringling Bros is shutting down because of poor management, not animal rights activities. Look at Cirque du Soleil! They're growing like gangbusters!
All the talented acrobats and entertainers from Ringling Bros will just go to Cirque Du Soleil (if they haven't already). Poorly run organizations die. That's the American way.
When was the last time you went to the circus or even thought about it?
Click bait again by rojo. LRC soon to go the way of B&B.
They didn't change quickly with the times, and in comparison to Cirque de Soleil, which is some kind of preternatural money maker of French Canadian strange kitsch (our family was taken out as an XMas to one of their horse productions, which I think the children may have enjoyed), there wasn't all that much interest in it. When I was a kid in the 1970s, it was already not all that much fun. But what is quite a lot of fun is to visit the Ringling Museum--the circus part of it--and estate grounds in Sarasota, Florida. The Circus Museum was a blast for my kids--there is a large scale enactment of a circus in action and a circus train, as well as clown cars, and gaudily painted circus wagons/train cars.

Its those named PETA people. What are all them animals going to do for work now?
Guess they'll have to be deported.
I was hoping to attend Ringling Bros. Clown college. I'll have to go with everyone's second choice, Cornell.
Why, perhaps because Cornell has top-ranked veterinary school?
http://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/university-subject-rankings/2015/veterinary-scienceOr people are waking up to the fact that this business is based on brutal animal cruelty.

Very sad day...:(
Impressive to see that circus last so long after the death of the founders.
Elephants are too sensitive and intelligent for this demeaning work. They should have used Princeton graduates instead.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?

How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
