Well thats a lie, considering they voted against independence.
I could point to a wee referendum result that proves otherwise laddie.

Take a look at the women's all-time 5000m list for women from Europe:#5) Gabriela Szabo PR 14:31.48, from Romania, story below.#4) Olga Yegorova PR 14:29.32, EPO positive, banned for doping 2008.#3) Paula Radcliffe PR 14:29.11,#2) Elvan Abeylegesse PR 14:24.68, from Turkey, banned for doping.#1) Liliya Shobukhova PR 14:23.75, European record, banned for doping.Do you see anything that 4 out of the top 5 women of all time at 5000m from Europe have in common?http://sportsscientists.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Capture-400x256.pnghttp://i4.irishmirror.ie/incoming/article6915888.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200/PaulaMain.jpg

I think that 5 out of the top 5 European women of all-time at 5000m have something in common.
It is just a coincidence.

Is it that they all have appeared in a celebrity chef TV show in their respective countries?

China has the top 6 times of all-time.
8:06 is equivalent to about a 14:03 5000m.
What a joke.
Where are Renato's special Kenyans born, living, and training hard at high altitude on the 3000m women's all-time list???
Answer:
The top Kenyans are 7th and 8th behind the top 6 Chinese times that were all set in 2 days in 1993.
Total number of Renato's special Kenyans born, living, and training hard at high altitude who have beaten the top 6 Chinese times in the last 23 years:
ZERO.
Ha ha ha

Has the world ever seen someone this talent who wasn't born in Africa (or China)?

Didn't Coe run 35 mpw? And Bannister ran 20 mpw. Also Tony Sandoval ran only 35 mpw and ran 27 mins 45 for 10km and 2h 10XX for the marathon. If the US had not boycotted the 1980 Olympics he might have been the lowest mileage marathon Olympic Champion post 1920. Also I read that Henry Marsh ran 40 mpw and Doug Padilla ran 30 to 40 mpw.
All of these were running less that 40 to 50 mpw and were born outside Africa/China. Maybe "low" mileage works well for some.
Sandoval was running 160 to 200 kms per week. He dropped his mileage back for personal reasons to 60 to 80 kms and ran a 2.14.
Coe regularly topped 100 km per week.
Padilla also regularly topped 100 km per week off 6 days.
Marsh was definitely a low mileage guy though.
Update:
When Wang Junxia ran a world record 10K in 29:31.78 to start off that week in 1993, she did the last 3000m in 8:17.47, which was more than 5 seconds faster than Kazankina's 8:22.62 WR at the time.
There are 7 Chinese times set in 1993 that are faster than ALL the Kenyans and ALL the Ethiopians born, living, and training hard at high altitude in the last 23 years.
It is just a coincidence.
They voted to remain in the UK.
The most talented runners in the world could run well on 40miles/week like Lagat, that is the reason why everybody else should run more miles, because they are not Lagat. I bet Messi would be the best soccer player in the US with very minimal training, that doesn't mean all Americans should play soccer only twice per week to max out their potential
Here we go again! Talking about weekly mileage is pointless unless it is established from the outset exactly what is included in the total. Warm ups? Jogging between the fast sections in track sessions? Warm downs? Easy morning runs? We had this debate ages ago when discussing Coe's weekly mileage!
Whatever, it's clear that Muir runs fewer miles than many of her rivals. What of it? There's more than one way to skin a cat and there are as many ways to train for middle distance events as there are middle distance runners!
She has not won a single global medal yet and she's the GOAT already? WTF?
The title belongs to Radcliffe.

Hell no. I don't know about the other ones but Coe and Bannister did a lot more than that.
In Coe's book 'Running my life' he talks about sometimes hitting 100 mile weeks. He won his first senior 800m title after a period of high mileage in the same month.
Bannister reportedly ran 28mpw. However, training was looked down upon in the gentleman's classes of Oxford university. Athletics was seen as a pastime only. So he used to go out at night and secretly run mileage. There is no telling how many miles he ran.
I am personally an advocate of being cautious with mileage, but some of the numbers being thrown around for elites is nonsense.
The only truly low mileage 800m runner we have evidence of is rudisha's, who's weekly long run is 7.5 miles. His volume is said by his coach and himself to be 60km a week. He is genuinely low mileage and posts on Twitter occasionally when he has managed to complete a run of 6-7 miles.
Can anyone translate the Scottish language that Laura uses?
For example:
...described as a “wee sparra†by one Scottish newspaper this week…
...Muir told an amusing anecdote earlier this week: “Friends say that when they watch me as I’m about to race they always go: ‘Where’s Laura?’ Because I’m wee and have got this peely-wally Scottish skin I think I must just blend right into the track.â€
???
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/athletics/2017/01/07/laura-muir-broke-25-year-indoor-record-first-sign-potential/
"wee sparra" = "wee sparrow" ("wee" is little)
"peely wally" = pale.
She's not the only peely wally prospect here in Scotland, Callum H is a *star*. Brilliant day of racing in Edinburgh on Saturday,
ummm.... Ever heard of Jordan Hasay?
