Louisiana high schooler Armand (Mondo) Duplantis broke his own HS record today in his first meet, LSU HS Invite, with 18-5 clearance. Got it on 3rd att. after 18-2 on 1st att earlier. Broke his own record of 18 1/2 twice.
He turned 17 on Nov. 10. Was 3rd at World Juniors last summer, I think, repping Sweden.

What a great vault for a junior! Luckily, I got to see it in person!
-
Was he born here or Sweden?

What a stud. He was the 1st highschool over 18 indoor last year and he was only a sophomore.
Here is a video of his jump.

Anyone know why he jumps for Sweden? -
5.61m, very impressive.

Mom is Swedish. She was a heptathlete/volleyball player at LSU in the 1980's. Dad is Greg Duplantis. Still not a family record. Greg jumped 19'
